  2. HOpe no one died in this tragedy?
As long as people reject Jesus and everyone wants to "make it," greed is
exalted above hard work, these kinds of
    thrash heap will keep happening.

  12. Most of these investment builders are just after profit, they don't think of people's lives, and the corrupt labourers they use as well, all of them are mad, infact alot of people don't have a conscience in that country, using substandard materials to build houses to cut costs, yet they sell these apartments for a whopping sum, thank God the buyers are not living in the building yet, that is how they would have killed masses of people, you will see some block makers in action and you will shake your head,95% sand and just a tiny whinny 5% cement, why won't houses collapse!! Contractors buying cheap rods for decking, rubbish foundation, all to cut corners, under 1yr and the whole building would start to fall apart, most of the Landlords that bought houses in one particular estate in Ajah are in dilemma,so many faulty whatever going on,faulty plumbing, electrical, painting turning greenish and blackish, cracks in the walls, most of them are now moving out and selling to other unsuspecting Landlords, is that not wickedness🀨???(Stella may not post if I mention the estate)

    1. Sounds like an estate whose acronym rhymes with that of a popular electronics brand

    2. I cannot stand them and their money hungry mentality. They would prefer see you dead in their hell houses than pay the price for proper materials and hiring licensed trades people.

  13. Imagine.....if they have used the correct building materials, the building wouldn't have collapsed.. this is so bad I swear.

Ask them to use 70bags for something, they will use 35bags and carry the rest into their pocket.

  16. All they want is to answer business owner and landlord. They couldn't care less if people are safe. Pyramids are still standing thousands of years later and these fools can't build a structure to stand for a few months. Mtscccchw

  17. The owner is said to be based abroad. Probably building by proxy; with all the duping that that sort of arrangement leaves room for. It's really so sad to imagine that it's a waste of someone's honest toil. Worst of all, it killed him. May he not have gone in vain.

  18. This collapse is avoidable and that's what makes it very annoying. I learnt that the state government sometime last year sealed the place. Who allowed this to continue?
Heads must roll. People must be held accountable.
It's painful that lives were lost. Totally avoidable

  19. God God God, Honestly can Nigerian do the right thing and leave God out of this. We create Chaos and expect God to help us solve our problems. Lets learn to the right thing and lets head roll ( contractors, building authorities and engineers).

  20. The building was initially 16 storey. And they went and added another 5, making it 21!. Who does that? Lagos state sealed it up for permission errors, but because they have long legs, they were able to find their way back there. They were even having a site meeting there yesterday, so definitely lives will be lost. So that is the end of the greed and corruption in the Nigerian blood!

  22. Worst of all, nobody will be brought to book. A land that jokes with virtually everything, including life which is sacred. Who authorised the opening of the site after it was initially closed due to observed irregularities? Who is the contractor that allowed a designed 16 floors to metamorphose into 21 floors? These people have questions to answer and we pray that their blood will not go the Nigerian way. Very sad indeed.

  23. Gerard Road and most of Ikoyi, VI, Ikeja GRA were meant for one story buildings. I used to work in a multinational on Gerard Rd. Then the corruptly enriched I-must-live-in Ikoyi folks came and converted all the beautiful one story
Buildings to multistory apartments more than likely leaving the foundation that was not built to carry that many floors. Start with the Tiger of bourdilon. Ikoyi and most places in Lagos were not planned for high rises. Greed is bad and it’s about time Lagos and Ogun had a real urban development plan. I pity many diasporans who just send money “home”, some are loans for the nonsemvd we got. Govenor Abiodun, your predecessors sold OPIC big plots to many diasporans in 2007/2008, till today, you refused to put infrastructure and you collected millions from people, releasing water from the damn making all the investment useless. All you need is a sunk pump and a huge plot and pipes pulling water from every home to the designated land which will become an artificial lake. The corruption and lack of brain work in governance in Nigeria is tragic. Every subdivision, you call them estate here has an artificial lake and pipe network from all houses that pump water when it rains from each house to the artificial lake they even have swans, Ducks etc to make it look real. Mr Abiodun, hard earned money went into the place 14 years and no improvement. Then some are selling so many farmlands in Lagos now you wonder whether real estate is the only investment in the world. A Berkshire Hathaway stock, just one is over $188k, you heard right, so real estate in an unplanned trip hcf
