DeleteAround 2015 and 2016, I wanted to leave my work for a PG programme at the University of Ibadan.
ReplyDeleteI had written and passed the entrance examinations and begun screening.
But somehow ASUU strike started and it was hard for me to continue the process.
I think the strike was particularly long at Ibadan because of an internal crisis.
It then occurred to me that if I had gone to Ibadan, I would have wasted a lot of time.
And gone back to undergraduate days of depending on ASUU and Nigerian government to live my life.
What God wanted for me instead was to start a family.
If I had gone to Ibadan I would not have found the person I married. Because she was in Lagos.
In the time that I would have been waiting for a PG certificate. I had already married and have two children.
Praise the Lord!
To see how God's redirection is not a loss, the certificate I was going to get in Ibadan, I still got it in Lagos - without leaving my work.
I didn't care when ASUU was on strike or when Coronavirus didn't allow schools open, God directed me in His kindness.
So brethren, everything works together for our good.
Also, I see now that people don't care if you are a postgraduate anymore, what they care about is where you have worked (experience) and what you can do - your skill set.
So, it may not always be a wise decision to leave your job for a PG programme, especially when you are not changing career.
Sometimes God will wreck your plans to save your life.Appreciate the detour.

But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life’ (John 4:13-14 NKJV).
