  1. D most important thing here is that Chris will never mention Wiil, Jada or any sensitive subject in his jokes anymore. In fact , a lot of Comedians all over d world including Nigerians will henceforth tread with caution in d cause of their jokes. Tnx Will for defending ur wife, regardless.

Moving forward, they will be more sensitive with their silly jokes!

    3. In other news, full video evidence has come out showing Will Smith making jokes of somebody's head/haircut before.

That's life. Most of human beings know how to give what they cannot take.

None of them was right that night.

      Get over it.

    1. No, I think it's 'lesson learnt' or 'message well passed'. Everybody has taken note and world wide, comedians will learn boundaries.

The apology was heartfelt and sincere. And Chris Rock too, I am sure will release his own apology soon. They are brothers. God bless you both and Jada too.

  3. The way Will went from laughing so hard to getting up, walking to Chris and slapping him needs to be studied. That switch was really fast.

They're friends they'll def sort themselves out.

All I can say is let's learn to be sensitive. You don't have to put down the next person who's already down just to have a good laugh.

If they won't join you in laughing at what you have to say about them, then scratch it.

Will Smith, I can't blame you. You have apologized. Chris should not only accept this apology but he should also apologize to Jada.

    2. @ The original Sugar Something is wrong with you for making such statement that Chris should apologize to Jada. For what? Did you see how he embarrassed Chris not only before the whole world for a joke but also to his children? Why didn’t both Jada and Will get mad with the Host Regina Hall when she joke about their open marriage before the whole world at their expense? And why did Will Smith laughed first at the joke when Chris made the comment? He is a big self entitled fool and just because he is the Almighty Will doesn’t make it right

    3. The fact that Will laughed doesn't mean he thought it was funny. Sometimes when I'm frustrated, I laugh to keep from flaring up. Some people laugh when things get awkward. Chris has been picking on this lady since 2016. He was long overdue to be checked. Chris is a hypocrite if he doesn't apologize to Jada for mocking her medical condition because he's the same person who was preaching to black women to love their hair.

  4. Thank God for peace. Everybody will rest now. He just set the records straight. There's a limit to how you joke with people and their health conditions

  5. Alopecia is not a disability!!! You all sounding like Chris said “Oh Jada look at you bald head hahahaha” no! He called her GI Jane which depicts a strong woman character when Demi Moore had to shave her hair in the movie.. It’s more like a compliment if only you’ve watched the movie!

However, Kudos to Oscars organisers! If this didn’t happen yesterday no one would be talking about the ceremony… well played 🌚🌚🌚

    1. This! Most people don't even know anything about GI Jane and are so quick to join the bandwagon.

    2. Exactly! I think what he meant by that joke was if there should be a sequel of GI Jane, Jada would fit in as the main character.

    3. Alopecia is an ILLNESS.....And a very SENSITIVE one for alot of women that may already be dealing with mental health issues/identity/body issues etc.
Loosing hair may not mean anything to u,but may mean ALOT to the next woman. Imagine wakn up daily, brushing ur hair and it keeps falling out. Physically u may not be sick, but psycologically.
If i want to be bald, let it be on my own accord or wish. Not the one ur enemy will wake up and ur eyelashes,eye-brows and hair on ur head is pulling out. Its pure TRAUMA for SOME women.

    4. Everything is sensitive, but women mock men every day for being bald, rest 14:00

  6. Dude messed up big time. Some of us women, especially the stupid ones, are very good at driving men into doing something stupid all in the name of proving their love and showing they're macho enough...when in all honesty, genuine love needs no proof or show off. So she rolled her eyes and you took it upon yourself to smack another man...what if she had sighed or hissed, that means na bottle you go burst for Chris head. You hitting another man for a woman is just as stupid as a woman fighting another woman for a man. You can't show me you love me or have my back by embarrassing and ridiculing us both.. for what? Your ego or my emotions? You better stopeet. I can't count how many times my husband and I have had to ignore some naysayers, gossip and side talk. Thank God I'm not kuku a serious person otherwise that means, na so so fight my husband go dey fight to prove he loves me or what? Abeg one of us should have sense biko. Your wife has alopecia, there is power in knowledge. Whatever happened to using your winning moment to school and enlighten Chris about her condition? If you nor even win, you and Chris be guys, go talk to him as a man afterwards. Where was your acting skills when she rolled her eyes? You business is making your wife feel better in that moment not addressing Chris. Some women keep letting themselves to be used by the devil to ruin their homes and husbands. Will should have been smarter. I hope he gets stripped of that award as a lesson to everyone. You shouldn't act like a fool for any woman. If your wife too send you, she'll never let you fool yourself for her cuz Las Las na una 2 go bear the shame. Men need lots and lots of sense when dealing with women. We are very emotional and it is dangerous.

    1. Well said. ..but Jada didn't send Will anything. It would have been better for Will to take the mic and explain more about alopecia. He would have been a hero not smacking a full grown man. He embarrassed himself. What a lousy mood swings. G.I Jane is a strong woman who simply cut her hair. Common Will messed up big time.He should have gone after the lily kid his wife was messing with. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

    2. Thank you. Will hit Chris, not because the joke was a bad one, he just thought to seize that moment to prove he can be a ‘man’ and that he has ‘had enough of y’all bad mouthing his wife’. Just so stupid. Is Jada above being roasted? She is not just a wife, she is a celebrity in her own right and is fair game! Again, that joke was not insensitive or malicious!
Joke is on Will Smith for tainting his moment for something he now has to apologize for.

    3. @Yeye Person Roman Polanski that raped kids, did they take his award? Harvey Weinstein that raped women, did they take his award? Mel Gibson that supported Nazis, did they take his award? Woody Allen that allegedly molested his underaged stepdaughter, did they take his award? Casey Affleck that sexually assaulted women nko? He still has his award, right? What of Kevin Spacey, another rapist? He still has his award!
So why should they take Will's award? You want to tell me that slapping a man who mocked your wife's medical condition is worse than rape, pedophilia and antisemitism? LOL the academy won't do that because it'll open up a whole can of worms they're not ready to address. At most they'll ban him for like a year. Shikena!

    4. RestAt Yeye Person THANK YOU!!! That was well said and I appreciate that someone like yourself got it. Will Smith acted foolishly, distasteful, disrespectful not only to Chris but to the entire blank people all over the world that his action just gives power to the stereotype that black people cannot behave themselves in a civilized manner

@anon 18:03, You are one of those people who sees uncouth, foul mouthed and ill mannered people as real and being themselves. Your type are used to toxic people, so when you see a soft spoken and cultured person, you label them as fake. @ 18:03, You need to unlearn and relearn some things.

  9. I'm trying to understand some of these comments where people are condoning the slap as a defense of his wife's humility.
Where was his wife's compassion for her husband's humility with hers entanglement.
She has pushed this man to the breaking point if you've asked me.
Never is it OK to go on stage on live television and smack someone sorry I don't care what they said to your wife if you think it's OK for your wife to have another man's dick inside of her with no violence than Chris Rock's humble jokes are irrelevant
The sad thing is here there were so many amazing things at this oscars this Oscar was one of the best in years and by the way directed by a full black cast a cast so many powerful things will be overshadowed by we're shouted by 1 black man going on stage smacking another black man please try to make it make sense to me cause I don't understand truthfully don't understand.

  11. Will Smith has been battling emasculation and unframed issues with Jada Jezebel whom he has a mother/son relationship dynamic

    Unframed men are emotionally violent

This is why framing men is crucial in our times

  15. When it comes to Will Smith, Udi Abi Ubi summarised it perfectly. That relationship is a disaster. Will needing to 'show himself' on a joke, when he was mum and made a mockery of by same, unremorseful wife on live t.v is just the height of Ridiculousness.

  16. I kinda respect that Chris actually kept his cool after the slap coz it could hv easily gone south. Even said "ok" wen will asked him to keep jada out of his mouth 😆.

  17. The problem with the GI Jane joke is that GI Jane WILLINGLY shaved her head. Jada didn't have a choice. Due to an autoimmune condition, she HAS TO deal with hair loss. Jada didn't CHOOSE to be bald, so to mock her about it is cruel.
The problem with Chris Rock is that he has been targeting Jada for a while now. So I don't know why people want to act like he's a victim, when he's been sort of goading them. Same Chris Rock produced a documentary on the struggles black women face with hair, so why would he make fun of a black woman's hair.
At the end of the day, my heart breaks for Will. He's going through it and has been for a while. This entire award season people have been making jokes at his expense about his wife being with other men, from Laverne Cox to Wanda Sykes to Regina Hall. Clearly he'd been feeling emasculated and feeling like people think he's a joke, and he snapped. And I feel bad for him because he's worked so hard all these years for this Oscar. Only for this moment to be ruined by this.
I hate that people are condemning him and calling him all sorts of names because people who actually know him and have worked with him say he's very nice and a great person.
He should never have let Chris Rock ruin his night like this, but he's human. You can only poke a bear so much. I don't know if Jada would have done the same for him. I mean he has a lot of industry goodwill and respect so he'll be fine professionally in the long run. But I hope he gets some help.

    1. So, why did he laugh at the joke initially???!!

    2. @Anon 22:34 You know laughing doesn't always mean you find something funny, right? Some people actually laugh to keep from crying. Some people laugh because they're embarrassed. Sometimes people laugh when they're shocked. Sometimes people laugh sarcastically. From Will's body language, he was uncomfortable from jump. The rage didn't come out of nowhere
