    1. Awww...I never knew prisoners in Nigeria were accorded this much human dignity. See the ladies looking good and happy. Ok, Men also have football matched organized for them sometimes.

    2. The correctional institution have different programs and activities including religious, social etc and they invite their sponsors and those who show interest in the prisoners to help the inmates of which this pageant is one. It is not the first time they are having such event. Chidinma is standing trial for murder no doubt but she is still human, alive and needs to socialize with other inmates. But it is every shade of wrong for this particular event knowing the family of Ataga is in pain.

    4. Thankyou anon 13.57 Prison is a community in itself. People get an education, acquire skills,in some cases marriages take place, people even have conjugal visit( where their spouse spend the night)...some people are rearing kids from prison. Depending on severity of ur crime/sentence or what sort of prison you are in.
Some prisoners even work and get paid in prison.
Remy Ma wed Papoose in prison, they started their marriage from prison and she went in for Attempted Murder; she shot someone.
I wasnt so shocked seeing this Chidinma pics i know Prison do activities. Football matches, drama etc that people sponsor.

    1. Your comment is nothing but absolutely the truth. I wish I can hug you mama Alex 😁😁😁😁

Nigerian prison used to be associated with dirty and all what not, the reason people are surprised seeing this. All you condemning this, pause a little and ask yourself why it's called correctional center? Prison should be a place to shape and mould people unto good and not to harden them the more. Beside, they haven't been convicted and even if they have been convicted, they should live life beautifully before departing.

I see nothing wrong here provided they do their time. Or would you rather want them to be flogged every day and denied food to make you guys feel happy?

      Delete
    2. Eka, they will come for you under anonymous and call you wicked for this comment. No, They expect her and other inmates dehumanized and treated like animals before they will be proud of their country as if inmates are not treated way better abroad.

    3. In overseas, prisoners are entitled to quality education while in prison. Some learnt skills. At the expiration of their years, some graduated into the various professions they studied. When we see how neat and functioning prisons overseas looks like, we applaud it. Why then are we condemning this little show organized for inmates here in the country? Isn't this the height of hypocrisy?

You'll be shocked to even know Chidinma 'might' not actually be the killer of this man. Some powerful persons might have killed him but fronting her to cover their trace. At the end, she might get her own share of the bargain if it's all planned.

      Delete
    4. I mean!!! I really don't understand what all the outrage is about. Are inmates supposed to be wallowing in misery 24/7 because they committed crimes? Life continues tbh, as long as they still serve punishment for their crimes.

I know some maximum security prisons in some countries usually hold sports tournaments for their inmates (made up of serial murderers, gang bangers and all sort of hardened criminals) and the winners are given prizes. They are still accorded human dignity and are afforded the opportunity to participate in and have a taste of events that happen in the outside world.

      Delete
    5. Eka i pray you don't lose any of your family members through the wicked hands of anyone. God won't let that happen Amen. Then you will know seeing that same person looking healthy, shinning teeth. When the deceased family are still heartbroken, some depressed, some lose another family member cos of heartbreak... If you have never gone through anything before please just ignore people comment and move. Someone being sick and dying is more better by being killed by another human and then seeing that person looking happy... When the family can't sleep or stop crying

      Delete
    6. Anon, I am not saying that this is supposed to make the family of the victim happy but it's just the truth. Life does go on in prison. We need to push sentiments aside and accept the truth.

In spite of their offences, some of them will still make heaven if they repent and turn their hearts to God; not that they won't pay for their offences though.

Holding beauty pageants for prison inmates is not a novel concept, at least not in Nigeria. Being in prison for a lifetime is already gloomy enough, inmates shouldn't be totally deprived of all joy and fun activities because they committed crimes. They are still humans and like i said, they should still be accorded some level of dignity.

      1. Is the trial a circus?
      2. How many accused and awaiting trial inmates have had this privilege that is being dished out to this particular accused?
      3. She is a POI (person of interest) in this high profiled murder case. Turning the case into this circus is like poking your fingers in the eye of the family of the deceased.
      4. This is Nigeria, why is the case dragging for this long? Why is the media being used for this circus.
      5. This is Nigeria!!
      6. This is Nigeria!!

Someone failed to do their job. For whatever it is worth, the allegedly accused chidimma should not have partook in this pageant considering the high profile case surrounding her. But you people are truly mean, you expect her to be constantly covered in ashes, dressed in sack clothes and be wallowing in constant misery? I understand what she did was truly despicable but abeg allow the girl her once in a while happiness. If you think what I'm saying is stupid, ask yourself, "Would God condemn her to a life of pain and misery or would He still want her happiness despite what she did"?

Some ministries even go to prisons and hold parties for the prisoners and give them gifts/souvenirs.
Do you know the blessings you receive when you put smiles on people's faces?
Prisoners that are due for execution abroad are even asked what they will like to eat as their last meal before execution and such are usually provided by the state.
Some prisons abroad even grant the spouses of the inmates conjugal visits in a well furnished apartment within the prison to enable them have kids with their spouses.

The hatred is often biased against men. They moreover, hate when they feel a person's action personally affects them negatively, not based on what is right or wrong and they hate when they are triggered...usually by Stella and/or the first two commenters on any post. So many ppl here are just bandwagon ppl with no mind of their own. 42. For those applauding this, Eka Joy, Snarker and other supoorting bvs, in as much as prisoners engage in vocational skills, DON'T FORGET THE MESSAGE THIS PICTURE IS SENDING TO THE LARGER SOCIETY. Now, you have teenage ritual killers. What more awaits your country?

Snarker, you talk about upholding this lady's human dignity. DID SHE UPHOLD THE DIGNITY OF THE MURDER VICTIM?

Yes, she has not been proven guilty but remember she confessed to the crime in as much as she later denied.
She is the MAIN SUSPECT in a HIGH PROFILE MURDER CASE!
Is the system rewarding her with a beauty pageantry? VERY FRIVOLOUS VOCATION to use in reforming a murder susoect.

Vocations for rehabilitation of prisoners for murder suspects should be SOMETHING MORE SOBERING. However, this picture found it's way to the public domain is not the crux of the matter. Now that it is here, think beyond band-wagon entality to the far-reaching message of how institutions in your country are being run. Would it make for a better society THAT VALUE HUMAN LIFE?

YOUR COUNTRY IS AT THE EDGE OF A PRECIPICE

See things from a broader perspective. WEIGH THE PROS AND CONS as well as their CONSEQUENCES.
Put on your thinking cap. πŸ€”πŸ‘¨πŸΎ‍πŸŽ“πŸ‘©πŸΏ‍πŸŽ“πŸ•΅πŸΎ‍♂️πŸ•΅πŸΎ‍♀️
