Zaram, see how you typed this with confidence! This is how people will swear down that they saw you somewhere with their korokoro eyes but they'll be dead wrong!
I feel so ashamed for Black women, whenever they wear these fakeness so obvious. Like l can never perm my hair again . The compliments l get for being natural just wow ! me....
My own is how societally, natural hair is now a thing of shame. Young people can't even dare have a wedding with their afro hair cos comments om their pictires will be like: but why? It's not fine naa. Is it that you can't afford Brazilian hair? Like...
And the worst is we don't even produce these hairs that we consume so much.. imagine the revenue if we produced them
I sincerely empathize with you ladies, that are constantly seeking for authenticity in stuff around. There is a movement by the Caribbean community, begging us Black ladies to be real to ourselves, l still kept the handbills they gave me over 10 years ago. I know how it feels to get people, walk up to me just to say thank you, for promoting my originality. I do natural look makeup as well. I am too confident in me. How many White ladies wear these Wigs like you Black ladies do, if not for a medical condition ? Epele......
You just want to try to control others by shouting natural hair upandan. Let people do what is best for them. Some people enjoy wigs and extensions and perming their hair for different reasons and they are well rounded confident ladies. Do what is best for you and let others do what is best for them. You are not better than another person because you choose natural hair. Live and let live.
I don't mind it but personally I wonder how they use public restrooms..the thought of same hair that sweeps n touches bacteria on the sides of the wall or accidentally sweeping the toilet bowl n now touching their body after. makes my skin crawl
Women wear wigs for various reasons - convenience, change of style, whatever. It is a common trend the world over. Women of all races dye their hair and wear extensions at times, even if they're not doing wigs. This argument that black women are looking to be who they're not is highly flawed. If that is what YOU have in mind in wearing such things, then understand that that is you. It does not necessarily pertain to everyone. Go ahead and do natural if you can afford the time and effort. It also looks appealing, when well done. Let others do what works for them. If you are happy and comfortable with what you're doing, then what other women are doing with their hair shdn't be such a subject of concern to you. It's enough to say that you don't like their hair without trying to hound them to follow your style.
As for Uche sha, the hair looks clownish. It doesn't fit her.
