It depends on how early the truth was known. It's difficult to suddenly break away from the bond that has been there, especially if the child is grown. It also fades away, especially if the biological father is now in the know and wants to take on responsibilities.

There is nothing like DNA in my culture. I'm a Nigerian. Any child born within the subsistence of marriage belongs to the man. DNA is usuless to us. If for any reason it is discovered that the child's mother is not faithful, she will be sent back to her father's house and will cease to be a wife while all the children are retained as the man's children.
