  3. A Different Type Of Promise!!
    2 Peter 1:4.

    Excerpts!!

"The word translated as “promises” in our opening verse needs to be properly understood.
The first type of promise is futuristic. It’s like when one says, “I’ll give you $200,000 tomorrow.” That’s a promise. But there’s another type when someone tells you, “I’ll give you $200,000” and then proceeds to write a cheque that’s dated today. Now, that cheque is the promise, not the money."

"The promise is that if you take the cheque to the bank, the money will be there. So, it depends on whenever you want to cash it. If the first type of promise fails, there might be no consequences; but not the second one; it must not fail. If it fails, that’s a criminal offence in financial terms, because it'll be a dud cheque."

"It’s time to cash your cheques and start participating in the divine experience. But how do you cash them? It's by speaking God’s language; it’s by declaring words of faith in agreement with God."

    Prayer!!

Dear Father, I'm immensely grateful for the privilege to participate in the divine experience. I'm an associate of the God-kind, transfigured in spirit into the image and likeness of the Son of God! I function from the place of advantage, victory, dominion and power, guided and propelled by His divine wisdom to do your will and fulfil my destiny in Christ, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

  4. In Nigeria, a lot of us erroneously calculate peoples ages based on the fact that we attended primary and secondary schools with them. And it's very wrong to do so.
What we forget, is the fact that class d. d mates doesn't equal age mates!
I finished secondary school at 16. I was about the youngest in my set. We had lots of older peeps. Now that I am 37, it'd be wrong of my classmates to think I reduced my age, simply because they are using their own ages to calculate mine. Are you me? Is my age yours?πŸ™„
Leave people alone with whatever age they are claiming. Age nor dey hide. When e set, their face and bodies will announce the real age.

Some even use the age of your kids to calculate your real age and often times, they are so wrong.l have a friend with a thirteen year old child, while mine is just seven and another of our friend just got married and we are of the same age ooo but people treat the one with the oldest child like she is so much older than us.

    3. Thank you dimplez. Face and body does not always announce real age. Some people have good genes and look younger than their age, others maintain their looks with money, surgeries, diet and healthy lifestyle.
I am 41 but look early 30s because I have good genes inherited from my mum, I also do not stress myself, I sleep well, have only one child, a loving husband and I eat healthy.
Now some of my childhood friends, the ones we grew up together and know each other's ages, they are within my age range , some have like two or three years differences while the rest are my age mates, they all look like my aunties now except one. The one that looks younger like I do is still single and also has good genes and money, she is 41 too.
What happened to the rest? Some grew very far, some have up to four and five kids and they are not that ok financially, the stress made them look older. Some , it is in their genes.

    6. Thank you Dimplez. But let me clarify what I meant in the last paragraph. No matter how you reduce your age, or make up, or do surgeries etc, eventually, your real age will come through. You can't cheat nature!
Normally, some people get very good genes. But even world renowned singer, Babyface, that looked like he was gonna be young forever, the age don dey show now Wella. That's what I meant. But I get your point.
Y'all have an amazing day! ❤️

    7. Ali B, face and body still doesn't show real age all the time.
Yes, the person will get old one day, we are not saying they don't get old but they won't look their age, like some others.

For instance, an 80yrs old woman may look like a 70yrs old.
Singer Babyface is aging but he still looks way younger than his age mates.
      You Gerrit?

      Stop arguing blindly.

      Delete
    8. Ali B forget, some people look way younger than their age. Some one like my husband looks younger than their last born whom he gave up to 20 years gap.

      Delete
    9. Ali, you are wrong.
Real age doesn't come through in appearance for everyone. They age but their real age doesn't show. Look around you, you will see many examples of this.
My father in-law is 91, you would think he is in his 70s. He still walks straight and strong, he only lost four teeth molars and premolars, all his front teeth are complete, he sees well, does not use glasses, has his memory intact, his face and body do not have as much wrinkles, talks normal, etc. Put him side by side with some 70plus people and you won't know he is older.

  9. Good morning my people , let's reason together.

Do you believe the assertion that, Dangote single-handedly built a working refinery(financed)? You mean he got a loan from Central bank as asserted by Emiefiewele.

He said, Dangote has almost paid off his debt(money borrowed from Central bank) but the government cannot make all our refinery active abi? what a pity.

We will continue to deceive ourselves in this country till the end of the world because I can see that, Nigerians loves to be fed with lies and we are not ready to change anything.

What happened to AJAOKUTA? they killed it abi no be so?

this country is in a mess ad the only solution ehn, is to hmmmmmmm(let me withheld this).

Are you thinking What I'm thinking?

    2. This was my argument few days ago. While I commend Dangote over this, I will like to say or ask rather, if Dangote was to come from southern Nigeria, would he have gotten all these benefits and tax waviers he often gets from the government?

If truth be told, Dangote succeed in businesses he has monopoly.

If not what happened to Ibeto orchestrated by the then government, I don't think Dangote would have dominated the cement industry.

Let's look at other businesses he ventured into like Indomie, juice, sugar etc. He didn't overpower the market force because he wasn't given the monopoly in those businesses. That's the reason I will say Dansa indomie and juice didn't thrive successfully because there were other competitive companies challenging him.

It's a crying shame that the APC government that promised to resuscitate our refineries failed woefully but have the money to empower an individual to own and run one.

    4. I think privatization or partnership is better than the government owning it by themselves.
We the people will make sure the project turns into a white elephant but a business oriented person will focus on profit, nurturing and making it flourish and if anyone tries to rubbish his/her sweat then head will roll unlike government where we turn everything to national cake.

  15. I read a comment yesterday on Rita's Edochie post from a woman who talked about her husband serving her a divorce papers to sign and his people aren't in support of her signing it.

    Woman,

I believe you've been a good daughter in-law to his family hence they still don't want you to leave.

Please for your own good, sign those documents so you can move on with your life. He had already moved on and so should you. Keep sentiment from his family aside and your emotions as well and move on.

Don't get stuck in this over a man who had already indicated interest he no longer wants you anymore.

Returning of bride price and a proper dissolution of matrimony is very important.

I know a crafty man who wanted to frustrate his wife after driving her from his house and refused to accept his bride price when the woman's people returned it. He categorically told her he will frustrate and ruin her to the extent that no man will even look at her let alone to marry her. I don't know how it later ended but all I know is that, the woman haven't remarried.

Once you sign that papers, his bride price should be returned as quick as possible, so there will be nothing binding the both of you anymore.

When I lost my Uncle in 2007, he was married for years without a child after his wife had a still birth. The wife refused adoption and years after his death, she found love again.

My parents requested her people should return my uncle bride price in which they refused or should I say they were lackadaisical about it. How much was even the bride price sef? Not up to 500 hundred. This was a marriage held in the 80's.

Eventually, she got married without the bride price retuned. Not up to a year, the new husband died through ailment. Shortly afterward not more than a year too, she died at the hospital.

I wouldn't know what killed them both but it was so painful losing them. My mother cried so bitterly, for she so much loved her. May their souls continue to rest in Peace.

    1. Good morning, TEEJAY
Lemme ask this question please, are you somewhat implying that it's because they failed to return the bride price that was what led to their death?
Is not doing the needful as such enough to end a life??? Now, I'm curious πŸ€”

    2. Teejay, you mean the madam that said they TOOK her husband?
Nigerian women will never stop being stupid. They live in UK and she still reasons like this.

Anambra woman took her husband because he is a toy.

Sounds like a child saying "mommy, Tony took my toy" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Useless men always getting away with with their wickedness because of stupid women who will never blame the man for his wickedness but give excuses for him. This is why they will never stop treating you people like trash.

Even if they used juju for him, so he was walking on the street and the woman walked up to him and touched him with the juju? Didn't he woo her? Didn't he promise her heaven and Earth? Some will even sleep with the said woman before juju can start working.

Don't sign the divorce papers, wait till he dies and you become an old widow while waiting for "juju" to clear from his eyes.

      Delete
    3. Anon 10:04,

I'm afraid but I think that was what happened according to the narration of the elders in the village. In the place I come from, as a divorced woman or a widow, Should you find love again and wish to remarry, you must return your late husband or divorced husband bride price.

You can't keep it and still get married to another man. It has a repercussion. It's still assumed you're still tied to your ex.

Some woke people and Christians don't adhere to this.

If the husband people refuse, there's a provision of taking it to the welfare centre.

    5. Teejay, the couple from your story most likely passed from HIV. Let me fill in that gap for you. Nothing to do with the pride price at all. By the way, who returns bride price if she is already widowed?

      Delete
    6. Anon 13:25,

Why is comprehension this difficult to some of you? Did I said a widow should return bride price? Unless she wants to remarry that's the only time her family will return the bride price to the family of the late husband. What's difficult here for you not to understand? Maybe your place don't do that hence the reason I said in my place and I never generalized it.

Pls stop quoting people wrongly when you don't know jack about what its been said. Imaging the nonsense you wrote up there that they died of HIV. Are you this daft? HIV that didn't kill them all along but just one year into marriage.

      Wonderful.

I never knew HIV kills this fast.

  18. THE STORY OF YOUR BIBLE

The word of the Lord endures forever."' 1 Peter 1:25 NKJV

In the fourteenth century, there was not a single copy of the Bible in English! It was available only in Latin, the language of the clergy, and those were chained to the podiums of the cathedrals. Then a prominent professor of divinity at Oxford University said, 'This is not right. People should be able to read the Bible in their own language.' Church leaders branded him a heretic and an instrument of the devil. Like Noah who pounded the nails into the ark while people ridiculed and scorned him, John Wycliffe began translating the Scriptures as a flood of persecution emerged around him. When he finally completed his translation of the Scriptures, he wrote this in the flyleaf of the first copy of the English Scriptures: 'This Bible is translated and shall make possible a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.' Five hundred years later, President Abraham Lincoln borrowed that statement for his famous Gettysburg Address.

Thirty years after Wycliffe died, he was again proclaimed a heretic. Consequently, his body was exhumed, and his bones were burned to dust, and his ashes cast into a river. A contemporary historian describes the scene like this: 'Thus this brook hath conveyed his ashes into (the river) Avon, Avon into Severn, Severn into the narrow seas, they into the ocean. And thus ashes...are the emblem of his doctrine...now...dispersed the world over.'

Hence Peter writes, '"The word of the Lord endures forever." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you' (1 Peter 1:25 NKJV).
