He said, “Everyone’s story is different, everyone’s path is different, people always feel as if you have to go a certain way to get a certain goal.
One of my companies pays 45 people’s salaries a month and that’s only one of the companies I run. If I do the maths, I probably pay about 100 people salaries a month and I have no degree.
Without being condescending or trying to sound cocky, I have friends who have gone to school and have PhDs now and they are working a 9 to 5 and making peanuts."

Na because Education for Nigeria na certificate based plus e no solid like that. On a normal level, once you have solid secondary education, go learn an in-demand skill and make yourself bankable. The sky will be your starting point. University education should not be pinnacle.
ReplyDeleteSo what?
ReplyDeleteAlways trying to undermine the university degree

The low self esteem that comes from lack of having a degree will always rear it's ugly head.

Please anything he says is correct. He's fooinee
DeleteIm a sucker for education, in fact, I’m going all d way, let me get d certificates first, one day GOD will surely pick my call. It’s not everyone that business favors, besides , one can be educated & still be successful. Asa is from a privileged background, just like David , so shouldn’t be d one motivating “literally” d poor. His family must have supported him while starting d business & can still inject funds into it , when needed but who will do that for d indigent? However, it’s either he wasn’t brilliant enough or he was truant & dropped out , just like David did at some point but his daddy mandated him to get that degree , which he did. To each his own.
DeleteSome comments ehn 🤦🤦🤦

Caveat...This does not apply to all men without degree before some two legged annoyance will start yapping up and down.
There is this thing about men with names like "Obi, Obinna, Obi something" Most are fine.

Me sef, I didn't go past secondary school... Wrote JAMB twice but didn't score up to the cut off mark. Actually, I went in for a diploma, but dropped out after just about 3 months. I hated lectures. School na scam. Business is the sure thing.. Ask my bank account. Lol.

Education is not scam.
ReplyDeleteThere is this feeling of inferiority complex in most people that are successful without degree.
You are lucky, not everyone will get lucky and successful as you are.
Even, if you don't use your certificate to work, it's still good because going to school will let you have exposure.
ReplyDeleteGrace differ. You're doing well, congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the master’s degree holder from the chronicle the other day would date him?
ReplyDeleteIt is a country that lacks true leadership that a doctorate holder will be paid peanuts. None of the successful business ppl in my family had/have degrees. You do not need a degree to be a successful business person. Would you want a doctor or a lawyer who did not have a degree? Some jobs will always require an education. You found a groove that works for you great. But everybody can’t throw education away, the world cannot run on business ppl alone, we would all die. So let us all take the path suited to us and find our land of milk and honey.
Education is still very important. Na all these "I didn't go to school but have PhD holders working for me" talk dey make our youth disregard the importance of education.
ReplyDeleteI agree that in a society like ours, education is not enough, being entrepreneurial and able to think outside the box is also necessary. But the value of a good education cannot be underestimated.
In a better society, it presents you with so many opportunities for growth. There's always hope, in the sense that if business no work out, you can fall back on your degree. #Schoolnobescam#
Sir without trying to sound cocky, kindly go get a degree. Education is Paramount.

Money isn't everything
ReplyDeleteImagine a degree on top of your business acumen , your exposure would be different
Hope that’s not d reason why it didn’t work out between u & Cuppy ,bcoz money is not everything .U can see that Mr Eazi is an Engineer, makes music ,yet has a thriving business. Aside these, he’s always invited to seminars & business forums , to give speeches & lectures on tech related subjects & investments, in different parts of d world, rubbing shoulders with like minds & decision makers. Check his itineraries on his page. Nothing anymore will tell me about business against education. My nephew is an Engineer, schooled in one of d IVY-league schools in d US & works as a manager with Google. He got d admission from Nigeria, not as if he was living there. Bcoz of his brilliance, his expertise is always sort after in his department, by d executives & someone will ask “who school help”. He’s not a citizen yet ,but it’s a work over bcoz it’s his entitlement & they’re already processing it. Flies first class to anywhere in d world, courtesy of Google as well as other luxurious entitlements. He’s just 26years. Advise ur wards , siblings, children & relatives on ds , except whoever is not brilliant, then he or she can opt out.
ReplyDeleteHis grandfather was the late Ukpabi Asika (Google is your friend). His Uncles Obi and Naeto C are part of the showbiz industry. Please numerous relatives and family friends in the elite circle. Don’t fall for this story and become a dropout because of Asa. If your father’s name don’t open doors, please stay in school.
ReplyDeleteNaeto isn’t his uncle.
