His dna was probably already in their database or the sandwich wrapper told the store and they checked the videos. Imagine training maybe a year or more and effing up the job over a damn sandwich.

He almost certainly wanted to be caught. Sometimes, the pride of the criminal feat makes them want the recognition, more than the crime.
