The Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, arraigned Friday Audu, described as the mastermind behind an extensive cryptocurrency and romance fraud syndicate, before Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos. Audu and his firm, Genting Nigeria Limited, were docked on a seven-count charge involving the unlawful retention of crime proceeds, forgery, and possession of fraudulent documents totalling $2.5 million and N3.5 billion.

Around 300 suspected bandits on motorcycles, armed with sophisticated weapons, were spotted crossing the Kontagora–Minna highway between Kampanin Bobby and Wamba in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday adjourned a suit filed by some vulnerable FCT residents, including scavengers, beggars, petty traders, and others, against FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, until 29th May for hearing. Justice James Omotosho adjourned the matter after Adamu Mahmood, who appeared for the plaintiff, sought an extension of time to file a further affidavit in response to a counter-affidavit served on him.

The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, fixed June 19, for judgment in a N550m fundamental rights abuse suit against the Nigerian Army, Chief of Army Staff and six others. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik fixed the judgment date shortly after counsel to the applicant adopted his written address as his brief of argument, in the suit seeking the sum of N550 million from the Army as damages.

ReplyDeleteWe banned the importation of rice and rice , the most staple food became almost out of reach of the poor man.
I sincerrely believe that before taking such drastic actions , Measures should be put in place to checkmate productions of such things 🙏🏻
You don't just ban goods when there are no incentive measures to encourage local production.
