Arise TV has announced the passing of its news anchor, reporter, and producer, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, who died in an armed robbery incident in the early hours of Monday, September 29, 2025 at her residence in Abuja.
She was 29 years old.

It is with heavy hearts that the management and staff of the ARISE News Channel announce the passing of our beloved colleague, News Anchor, Reporter and Producer, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu. Sommie tragically passed away in the early hours of Monday, September 29, 2025 following an armed robbery incident in her residence in Katampe area of Abuja that is being investigated by the Nigeria Police.
Sommie, 29, was not only a cherished member of the ARISE News family but also a vibrant voice that engaged and connected with our viewers.
Beyond the airwaves, Sommie was a lawyer who was a professional and supportive colleague and a friend to many.

ReplyDeleteI been thinking that ppl have to become very strategic on how and where they live in the coming years. I feel that the obviously prosperous will be targeted more. If you are seeking a home please pray for guidance on where to go, pray for a place that will be safe throughout the ages, not just safe for today. As much as you want to have your dream car, please pick an average one that does not peak anyone’s interest. Learn how to live in the shadows, under the radar and become a grey man/woman. Stop posting social media posts related to wealth and accomplishments of yourself or family members, keep the luxury vacations to yourself. Do not let anyone unknown get interested in you.
