A protest erupted in Isanlu community on Sunday following the killing of a popular elderly woman, Mrs Elizabeth Olorunshola, at Ilafin-Isanlu community in Yagba East LGA of Kogi State by bandits. Gunmen suspected to be bandits had killed the elderly woman in a fresh attack on the Ilafin-Isanlu community on Saturday night.

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has advised Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, to have a rethink about his 2027 presidential ambition. The party’s spokesperson, Mr Seye Oladejo, gave the advice in a statement on Sunday in Lagos. He was reacting to Labour Party’s performance in Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State.

Armed terrorists suspected to be members of the Lakurawa group have allegedly killed a Customs officer and burned a Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) camp in Maje, Bagudo Local Government Area, Kebbi State. The assailants reportedly stormed the facility on Saturday night, firing indiscriminately. One officer was said to have been killed on the spot, while others fled for safety as the camp was set ablaze.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a notorious drug lord, 40-year-old Yussuf Abayomi Azeez, at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, as he attempted to board a flight to Saudi Arabia for Umrah. The arrest capped months of intensive surveillance on his illicit operations.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has granted property owners who violated the approved land use clause in parts of Asokoro, Maitama, Wuse and Garki districts a final grace period of 14 days to comply with the new terms and pay a violation fee of N5 million each. According to a statement issued yesterday by his media aide, Lere Olayinka, the extension takes effect from Tuesday, November 11, 2025, and applies to all allottees who failed to comply within the initial 30-day window.

The candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, in the just concluded Anambra State governorship election, Chioma Ifemeludike, has described herself as a winner despite losing the election to Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
According to results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, she secured 292 votes in the poll.
