Adamawa State Gov Fintiri Dumps PDP And Ports To APC

On Friday, February 27 2026, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri announced in a statewide broadcast from Yola that he had left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)..



He said that he moved after consultations with many people in the state and that the move was intended to advance Adamawa’s development by aligning the state with the federal government under President Bola Tinubu to secure greater support for projects in areas such as roads, housing and other needs.
He was accompanied in the switch by his entire cabinet, numerous PDP officials in the state, and other key supporters.
