The Central Bank of Nigeria has added money bouquets to its list of prohibited naira‑abusing practices, grouping them with spraying, squeezing, selling, and defacing banknotes.
Under the CBN Act, anyone found tampering with the naira faces a minimum of six months’ imprisonment or a fine of at least ₦50,000.
The advisory comes days before Valentine’s Day, a period when money bouquets and similar displays are commonly given as gifts.
