Governor Francis Nwifuru reacted swiftly to the abduction, condemning it as unacceptable and directing security agencies to launch a full rescue operation while urging the kidnappers to release the monarch unconditionally. Sadly, the situation took a tragic turn when the Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed that the traditional ruler had been killed on March 2, 2026.
Arrested suspects later led investigators to the hideout where his body was recovered and taken to a mortuary for autopsy. Authorities say the suspects will face charges once investigations conclude.
Reports indicate that the kidnappers had demanded a ₦250 million ransom during negotiations with the family before deciding to kill him.

This kidnapping thing is getting out of hands. What is Mr. President doing to curb the excesses of these wicked men. Just yesterday a post was circulating on Facebook where a corper member's paid 10million naira and they still killed him.
