MONDAY MEMO

I greet everyone and hope that your day is moving according to God's plan.

Yesterday i was clapped at seriously in the clap back post...The complaints and corrections were noted but i am not someone that is easily pushed around, so please bear with me as i continue to serve what i can in my capacity as a JOURNALIST and not a Blogger...

Some news are good on Instagram and Facebook but i cannot post them on this Blog......To be a Journalist is one thing and to be a Journalist who bogs is big deal as a lot is expected of one...

As a Journalist who bogs, i have never here that i am a perfect person. In fact i noted severally that i am a piece of  artwork, that was broken and glued together again by Gods mercy..

I remember some comments insulting and dragging me that i make a lot of errors when i write. These errors were cos i dont edit but post hastily...

Now I started using 'Grammarly' to edit my posts and i saw comments saying I am now using Ai and this cannot be Stella cos she makes a lot of mistakes....

YOU DEY WHINE ME?...I am bad you complain and i am good, you complain?

I will do me, if you wanna complain, please do, nah you get the energy..

As for enabling comments late, make una no vexs, I will do better....

And please stop telling anyone that they are using Ai.......Was Ai not meant to be used? Shout out to all those using Ai to make better speeches and writeups......

Nigerians and their problems!....that's how i read someone advising Pastors not to use Ai to compose their prayers...Na wah!..I am using Ai to create image and words and its fun......I don leave you behind for 1912!

See eh, I dont have time to anyone and their spewing ways here...Too many good things are happening outside oh...

NOTORIOUS FOR JESUS

Peeping Toms are one of the worst people on earth. That day, I visited my friend and had plans to stay the weekend. She stays off campus.

 At night I was undressing when I turned my head and suddenly saw a figure on the window, the shadow flashed against the wall, peeping from across the fence. 

I was terrified and screamed ......He dashed away. 

I raised an alarm and my friend's neighbour, a nice Igbo man called Mike decided to escort me and my friend to the next building where the individual must possibility have jumped from into my friend's compound.

 It was a three storey building and the compound was fenced with different flats scattered in different directions. Against the wall, rested a long wooden bench, the culprit apparently had climbed on the bench and it wasn't the first time. I couldn't fathom how long my friend had perpetually kept her nakedness under the radar of a perv and I felt disgusted. 

We couldn't find out who it was because it was dark and the compound had several people. That day, I told my friend to always drop the curtains rather than give free views to psychos. The incident left me traumatised for days as that was my first experience with a peeping Tom.

Sick people everywhere.

TEACHER LIFE

Last week during Open Day, a parent assured me confidently:
“It’s only cartoons on her tab.”
After I asked her what type of content her child is exposed to at home. Her daughter a bubbly lovely child could perform trending dance routines flawlessly, sing viral audio word for word, but struggled to consistently identify basic letters and numbers appropriate for her age.
She had actually come with the tab and wanted me to help her add apps that will help her little girl. She claimed it was only videos and cartoons inside. She said for the trendy video she watches TikTok a lot and indulges her daughter sometimes. I was happy she admitted to that, I was ready to work with her and help her child.

So let’s break it down.
There are educational cartoons — slow-paced, repetitive, skill-building,interactive.
Then there are stimulating cartoons — loud, fast, flashy, dramatic, addictive.
Both are animated But they are not the same.
Educational cartoons:
-Reinforces phonics, vocabulary, number and letter recognition
-Encourages problem-solving and emotional regulation
-Uses repetition intentionally
-Leaves room for thinking

High-stimulation cartoons:
-Moves quickly
-Switches scenes every few seconds
-Rewards short attention spans
-Encourages passive watching

And here’s the part we don’t like to admit:
Many children are not watching “cartoons.”
They are watching fast-paced digital entertainment disguised as children’s content.
When a child is used to constant sensory stimulation, the brain adjusts. Regular classroom instruction which requires listening, waiting, processing, suddenly feels slow.
And then we say: “My child is bored in school.” “My child doesn’t like learning.” “My child is not ready.” But maybe the child is just overstimulated.

Let’s also be honest about something else screens are convenient. They buy us time. They keep children quiet. They help us breathe for a moment And that’s okay But convenience should not quietly replace intentional parenting.
This is not about banning screens. It’s about knowing what’s on them. Sitting with your child. Asking questions. Limiting duration. Balancing it with books, conversations, outdoor play.
Because here’s the truth from the classroom:
We can tell the difference between a child who interacts with content and a child who is simply entertained by it.
Not all cartoons are educational.
And pretending they are doesn’t help the child.

WOW!!!!.....I remember so well my late mum in law warning me to watch that i do not allow the Bambinos too much screen time as it affects them...To me then she was blabbing oh cos how can you tell me to stop giving them cartoon when i take my me time when they are watching?My Bambinos lost concentration in kindergarten and it was noticed immediately and they called for a meeting and  after that meeting i knew my MIL was right and reduced screen time drastically.

Pretty privilege builds entitlement, not partnership.
7. You’ll spend more than you planned.
High maintenance lifestyle. Endless wants. Zero gratitude.

8. She ages her attitude doesn’t.
When the beauty declines, the entitlement stays. And that’s when regret hits hardest.
9. If her beauty was her only identity, she will crumble emotionally with age.
And you’ll be the emotional punching bag.
10. You’ll realize too late that you married the exterior, not the soul.
A peaceful woman with average looks beats a chaotic beauty 10 times out of 10.

Choose character over curves.
Choose peace over presence.
Choose a future, not a fantasy.
