President Tinubu Approves Posting Of 65 Career And Non Career Ambassadors

President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 Nigerian ambassadors to different countries and international organisations.
The Senate confirmed the nominees in December 2025.


The list includes both career diplomats from the foreign service and non career appointees, who are often political figures or people with experience outside regular diplomacy. Out of the 65, 31 are career ambassadors, while 34 are non career ones.

Some of the names that stand out are:

- Reno Omokri, a well-known writer and former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, posted to Mexico.

- Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, posted to Germany.

- Other notable postings include Prof. Mahmood Yakubu (former INEC Chairman) and several others to various missions. The postings cover countries across the world, from Europe and Asia to Africa, the Americas, and multilateral posts like the United Nations.
