A man just wrote about how it gives him joy his kids are bonding. Outside the not so subtle shade in the last paragraph, I don't see anything that indicates his home is troubled. But if one must look deeper between the lines, one can sense that his wife isn't too comfortable with his bonding with his son from Tonto but that's to be expected. A thief naturally thinks everyone else is a thief.
