The Kebbi Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old Idrisu Musa in connection with the murder of his elder brother, Muhammed Haruna, and his wife, Habiba Muhammed. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, who confirmed the arrest, said the couple was attacked with a cutlass while asleep at about 5:15a.m. on May 9, in Asarara Village, Kimba District, in Jega Local Government Area, adding that both died from their injuries.

The Federal Government has announced a partial closure of sections of the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road beginning Monday to allow ongoing rehabilitation works on damaged portions of the highway.
The Federal Controller of Works in Ogun State, Olayiwola Komolafe, disclosed that the temporary closure became necessary to enable contractors continue reconstruction work on critical sections of the road.
According to him, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, directed Arab Contractors to return to the site and accelerate completion of key aspects of the project.

Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has secured the African Democratic Congress, ADC, governorship nomination form for the 2027 Kebbi governorship election.
In a statement shared on Saturday via his official Facebook page, Malami declared what he described as a “state of emergency on misgovernance” in Kebbi State, saying he could no longer remain silent while the state faced worsening insecurity, poverty, educational decline and economic hardship.
He said the decision to join the race was driven by concerns over the condition of the state, which he claimed was facing severe governance and humanitarian challenges.
