Traditional Priest Invokes Deities To Hunt Down Kidnappers Of Schoolchildren And Teachers in Oyo State

A traditional priest in Oyo State, Muraina Mutairo, who is the Onisa of Esin Ele, has performed a ritual invoking ancestral deities to track down the bandits who attacked three schools in Orire Local Government Area and abducted dozens of pupils and teachers.


A video of the ritual, shared on May 19, 2026 shows Mutairo dressed in full traditional regalia, chanting incantations in Yoruba and calling on the spiritual guardians of the land to “hunt down the enemies” and ensure the safe return of the abducted children.

The priest appealed to the deities to expose the attackers, protect the community, and bring the captives home unharmed.

The attack, which occurred on May 16, 2026 saw armed bandits storm three schools , Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School , abducting about 30 students and teachers. Two people were reportedly killed during the invasion, heightening fear and tension across the community.
