EX Actress Doris Ogala Appears At June 12 Protest Venue After Submitting Medical Reports To Avoid Cybercrime Trial

Actress Doris Ogala is facing renewed scrutiny after appearing at the June 12 protest in Abia State, despite repeatedly claiming she was medically unfit to attend her cybercrime trial at the Federal High Court in Lagos. Her presence at the protest has intensified questions surrounding the authenticity of the medical reports she submitted to delay her arraignment.

Ogala is being prosecuted by the Federal Government on allegations of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, dissemination of false information and attempted extortion involving Lagos based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor. She has failed to appear in court on multiple dates, with her lawyers insisting she was receiving medical treatment and unable to stand trial.

However, videos and photos circulating online showed her actively participating in the Democracy Day protest, addressing demonstrators and moving without any visible medical limitations. Her appearance came less than 72 hours after prosecutors challenged the credibility of the medical documents she had submitted to excuse her absence in court again.

Doris Ogala previously claimed on Facebook that she underwent surgery on April 20, 2026, just three days before her scheduled arraignment on April 23. She presented an unverified medical report through her lawyer, yet resumed online activities almost immediately after the court adjourned the matter to June 9,2026 and showed no signs of medical distress.

On June 4, 2026, she posted a photo of herself in a wheelchair, claiming a medical emergency. Prosecutors argued that the post was intended to prevent the court from issuing a bench warrant.

When she again failed to appear on June 9, 2026 her lawyer submitted another medical report stating she had recently been discharged and was receiving outpatient care. The prosecution countered with evidence showing she had been engaging in political activities, contradicting her claims of being unfit for court.

After Tuesday’s hearing, she falsely claimed online that the judge had struck out the case. In reality, Justice Aluko warned her legal team that she risks arrest if she fails to appear at the next adjourned date in October.
Her sudden public appearance at the June 12 protest, despite her repeated medical excuses, has raised further concerns about the legitimacy of her claims.
