Oyo State Gov Makinde Restricts Night Motorcycle Movement As Search For Kidnapped Victims Intensifies

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered the restriction of motorcycle operations between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. to curb insecurity in the state.
He issued an Executive Order on Friday, stating that his administration would not relent until the kidnapped teachers and schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area are rescued and returned home safely.

Makinde described each day the victims remain in captivity as painful for their families and the entire state. He assured residents that efforts are ongoing around the clock, emphasizing that the safe return of those abducted remains a difficult but urgent priority for his government.
He stressed that the victims have not been forgotten or abandoned.
“We may not be able to disclose every step being taken because of the sensitive nature of the operations involved, but I ask our people not to mistake our silence for inaction. A great deal of work is being done behind the scenes,” the governor said.
