TEACHER LIFE

Mr P was that parent.
The one whose relationship with closing time is purely theoretical.
School closes by 2:30 pm.
His children? They know not to get excited. Because while other children are packing up and running to their parents, these ones are settling down for what is essentially an after-school program they never registered for.
I'm talking about a parent who would stroll into school after 5 pm.
Not rushing. Not apologizing. Not looking stressed.
Just casually walking in like he arrived exactly when he was expected.
"Come, let's go."
That's all.
Meanwhile, the teacher on duty has been sitting with his children for over two hours.
The school buses have left.
The cleaners have gone home.
The compound is almost empty.
But apparently, the teacher does not have a life.
One day becomes two.
Two becomes ten.
Eventually, the school introduced a late pickup levy.
The first day this man was handed the fine sheet, ehn...
My brethren. He shouted. He argued....He tore the paper into pieces and threw it on the floor.
As if destroying the paper would destroy the debt
The HM simply instructed the teacher to release the children.
No drama.
No argument.
No back and forth.
Life went on.
Or so he thought.
Fast forward to the next term.
The accumulated levy quietly appeared alongside his school fees.
Haaa
Nobody shouted.
Nobody tore paper.
Nobody raised their voice.
The amount was simply waiting for him Patiently Like a long-lost relative.
And just like that, a miracle happened.
Today, this same parent comes on time and days he won't he calls ahead.
"Good afternoon, please I'll be running late."
Or "I'm in traffic, I'll be there in 30 minutes."
And sometimes with a package for teacher on duty.
Look at growth
Honestly, most teachers are understanding.
Things happen.
Traffic happens.
Work happens.
Emergencies happen.
But communication changes everything Because there is a big difference between:
"Sorry, I'm running late." And "I'll show up whenever I feel like it."
One feels respectful.The other feels like you've mistaken the school for a boarding house.
And if there's one thing I've learned, it's that sometimes people don't change because they suddenly understand your inconvenience.
Sometimes...They change because inconvenience finally gets an invoice attached to it.

Heheheheheheheheheeh he should have gotten them a Nanny to pick up or their mum?.....whichever school runs is NOT YOUR MATE at all.....I have been delivered from it..Paid my dues...God i thank you!!!...that waking up early and taking to school? pick up? Dont go there!

NOTORIOUS FOR JESUS

On the evening of my ninth wedding anniversary, I posted it on social media, and not long after, a message from one of my exes appeared on my phone. He said he was sick and needed prayers. 

Honestly, the timing was impossible to ignore. After years of silence, he had chosen that very night to reach out? Okay oh. A part of me immediately sensed that he wanted attention. Still, I was not the kind of person to ignore someone who was unwell. I responded kindly and assured him of my prayers. True to my word, I prayed for him through a voice note that night.
As I reflected on his message, old memories resurfaced. There was a time when I loved him deeply and imagined a future together. 

Our relationship had once been full of hope and excitement. It was lovely at first sight. We dated for three years. However, everything changed after he left for campus. 

His calls became less frequent, his messages became shorter, and his interest gradually faded. I found myself doing all the chasing, trying to hold on to something that was already slipping away. For a long time, I refused to accept the reality. One time I looked back and cried so much. I kept wondering how I went from being desired to being less desired because he used to be all over me at the beginning of the relationship. Even after that, I kept hoping he would return to the person I once knew.
Eventually, exhaustion replaced hope. I stopped chasing and allowed the relationship to die a natural death. Years passed, and life moved on. I have a beautiful marriage and have reached a milestone many people dream of achieving. So when his message arrived that anniversary night, I felt no desire to reopen old chapters. Never will I. 

I offered him compassion but not access. I gave him prayers but not my attention. Although I promised to check back on him, I never did, on purpose. Some doors are meant to remain closed. 

The love I once had for him belonged to another season of my life, and I had no intention of revisiting it.

Maybe he just wanted to hear your voice cos honey, you have the most beautiful voice on a woman *sideeyes*

WOMEN GIVING BAD ADVICE TO FELLOW WOMEN SINCE 1900

If a married woman is crying to you about issues in her marriage, I beg fellow women stop that usual nonsense advice of, "Look unto your children. They will give you all the love you need. Remove eye from the man and focus on your children".
 I know that 9 out of 10 women give this advice. Please dont ever come near me with it.
In my world, a spouse has a duty that children can never fulfill. It is nonsense talk to ask a woman to forget spousal love and care, then go to her children for love and care.
If a woman is crying to you about her marriage and you honestly deeply know that you do not have any valuable advice that can restore her spousal love, please tell her. Dont bring that transferred-children advice to her.
A woman needs spousal love and care. A man needs spousal love and care.
Stop advising women to go to their children for love and care. Rather, guide them on how to resolve any issues in the marriage.
Stop the nonsense talk of "Face your children"
If you say it to my daughter, I will fight you. Go and say it to your own daughter.

Actually this is a Nigerian advice cos you wont find it anywhere else being given!.....Nigeria is so different that if you live abroad for long you will wonder how they do it and you will unconsciously Judge them like i sometimes do and people will be like ''No be Stella wey live for Naija?''Things that hit you in Naija hits differently when you aint in there.

INTERESTING STORY

I want us to learn from this couple.
The wife mentioned something I would like every married man to learn from. 

She said when the baby's crying or disturbing in the midnight, instead of the husband to help, he would take the pillow and go to the parlour to sleep.
Then I asked the husband, 'Is it true?', he said yes, and he added, I went out to look for what they will eat and they will not allow me to sleep.'
My brother, if you are in a habit of abandoning your wife and baby in the room, you need to change that behaviour. It is totally unfair. Your wife has sacrificed everything, including her life in the process. She would have gone through the day stress, and the baby could not allow her sleep in the night. You should assist her to carry the baby, cuddle, pet, and move round to put the baby to sleep. Let the baby sleep on your chest as the father, too. It is so amazing. Allow the mother to catch some sleep. That is what she has done all day.

From the pregnancy stage, you must show extra ordinary care to your wife. 

She is going to carry the baby for nine months with different stages and pains. Sometimes, she can not explain what she is really going through. Some will even deliver through CS. The day of delivery is a special day entirely, I wish some men could experience these things. 

You will sincerely appreciate your wife. There should be a special allowance given to wives and mothers.

Your wife is the queen of your home. Take good care of her. If you do not take care of your wife, what will you gain? She deserves the best from your care, attention, and wealth. During this period, you need to always be around her, at the close of work, go home to assist your wife, she needs you more. One thing I can not do is to take my wife or wives for granted, and I told him to cherish his wife, too.

MARRYING IN EASTERN NIGERIA

Igbo parents need to stop at this point and realize that you cannot make a man spend so much money to marry your daughter and still expect him to feel he is equal to your daughter.
There is not rationale for why you extort a man like he is a poverty alleviation scheme and you expect him to consider your daughter to even be worthy of being his partner let alone have equal rights as him in a marriage.

The gender equality we teach now is a western concept. As much as it hold a lot of benefits for couples to see each other as partners it is not so in our culture.
The foundations of an average Igbo wedding already nullifies any level playing ground between a man and his wife
The man makes the move to marry a woman
The man takes his family to the woman’s place
The man spends his money to appease the woman’s kin’s men
The man pays dowry
The man pays for the party that follows
Some times the woman’s family get to even extort the man and hike costs because this is their one opportunity to “reap” the fruits for their labour.
Some men empty their savings to marry
Some borrow and get in debts to marry
Against this backdrop, how do you want to start teaching partnership and equality ?
Western marriages where partnership and equality emanated from have nothing like dowry and family interference in marriages. Two people come together and make it work.
So if we want to really give women their rights to real partnerships in marriages, our parents need to drop their greed and quest to use their daughters as cash out plans in marriage !
Remember that he who pays the piper dictates the tunes!!!!
You want equality?Bring something to the table !!!
