Ejike’s arraignment followed his handover to the Police by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Awka and the conclusion of investigations into a petition alleging the circulation of false information capable of causing reputational harm and inciting public disaffection.
According to the Police, Ejike published multiple false posts on social media, including claims that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo had disowned his son, Ozonna, and other fabricated statements attributed to the governor’s family.
The defamatory posts included:
“Breaking News: ‘I will arrest anyone who calls Ozo my son. He is not my son. I disowned him years ago, and he is no longer a member of the Soludo family.’”
“Just In: I Don’t Take Advice From My Father. He Was a Drunkard Who B3at My Mom When I Was Young…” — ‘Soludo’s Son’ Speaks Out.
“Breaking News: ‘I ordered Ozo from Temu. He is Chinese-made, not my son…’ Soludo jokingly told reporters.”
“Breaking News: ‘They should organize a drinking competition between my father and Wike…’ — Ozo.”
Ejike has since retracted the statements and issued a public apology to the governor.
The spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the suspect has been remanded in a correctional centre pending further court proceedings.
