On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja ruled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) proved these assets were likely bought with proceeds of unlawful activities.
Malami, his family members, and companies linked to him could not show they earned the money used to buy them legally.
The forfeited properties include big items like Rayhaan University in Kebbi State (with its permanent, temporary, and third campuses plus the Vice Chancellor’s house), Rayhaan Radio Station, several hotels such as Zeennoor Hotel in Kano, Azbir Hotel, Meethaq Hotels, and Harmonia Hotels.
There are also factories, warehouses, filling stations, luxury homes in Abuja and other cities, and large pieces of land.
The EFCC had earlier gotten an interim order for 57 properties. The court made 48 of them final forfeitures today but spared nine after reviewing the claims.
These assets are said to be worth around N212 billion.
Malami faces money laundering charges in another court case.
