Soldier Declared Wanted For Supplying Military Uniforms To Terrorists Has Been Arrested

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a soldier earlier declared wanted for allegedly supplying military uniforms to terrorist groups operating in the North‑East.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed on X that the suspect, 23NA/84/1939 Private Mohammed Yusuf of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Training Facility, Lagos, was picked up at 6:30 pm on July 25, 2026 by troops of the 7 Provost Group.
Investigations showed Yusuf absconded from his unit and travelled to Maiduguri on July 7, 2026, where he went into hiding. He was reportedly sheltered at Gomari Costain, Jere LGA, by 25NA/89/12687 Private Baba Kamal Sale of the Corps of Intelligence, Dikwa.

Acting on credible intelligence, troops placed Yusuf under 24‑hour surveillance and arrested him at Jidari Bus Stop as he allegedly attempted to flee to Cameroon.

Makama said Yusuf is in custody undergoing further interrogation over the alleged supply of military accoutrements to terrorist elements and the possible involvement of other collaborators. He described the arrest as a major breakthrough in efforts to dismantle insider networks aiding violent extremist groups responsible for severe harm and loss of lives in the region.
