BLOG VISITORS CASTLE AND MARTINS
Today i am counting my blessings!
Can I tell you about these two siblings that God blessed me with? Forget whatever they think or say I did for them, it was nothing cos the Joy of knowing them is everything! .... the best part of knowing them is how their mums reached out to me and treat me like one of their own, just because i gave my widows mite to them when God prompted me to do so.....

I remember the first time Martins met me, he stayed from dawn till dusk, just watching me attend to guests and wowing my family with his knowledge of IT.....Hes such a cutie and so full of smiles and laughter!
What of BV Comment section bandit? She attended to me like her own big sister and she was the one i entrusted all my food with when i went to bury my Dad in Nigeria....Ah ah, even when my family were scared of my entrusting her with food, i told them to leave me to trust whom i wanted to trust.....She had my soending money in cash amounting to millions but did not steal a dime...kai i was too impressed oh!
Martins’ mum checks on me so much and prays for me so deeply that you would think she owes me money. I truly appreciate her.
Yesterday, Castle’s mum called me from London, where she went to visit Castle’s older sister who relocated two years ago and is doing so well. I was laughing and crying at the same time as she prayed for me in Igbo… Castle’s big sister was even translating the prayer. That moment was priceless. I don’t joke with people’s mums because I lost mine at a time when I needed her the most.
Thank you to these two special BVs that God brought my way.
Yesterday my blog had a problem and Martins turned back from going shopping and troubleshot until he fixed it. He said, “I can’t do anything else until I fix what’s bothering you, because it will bother me too.” Those words watered my eyes!
Please, leave jealousy aside and help me appreciate Martins.
And to everyone here who sees beyond my flaws and has accepted me like family, thank you. It can only get better.

You see, many people, especially women, do not fully understand the impact patriarchy has had on how relationships are viewed by Nigeria and African men.
Women do not understand that many Nigerian men do not actually understand love. Many of them do not love their wives the way women think they do. They love the services their wives provide: sex, cooking, cleaning the house, giving them children, taking care of the children, obedience, submission and all the other things women are expected to do for free. Some men provide financially, yes. But many women are doing all these things and still contributing equally to the family, and in some home women are even the highest providers.
Women in Nigeria and Africa need to do everything humanly possible to change the narrative.
That is why I want women to work and have their own money. Their own confidence, their own voice and their own options. Once you have your own money, your standards change.
You stop tolerating nonsense simply because someone is paying bills. Let the men know that if they cheat you will also cheat back and and still profess love to your man. Let them know that if they phisicaly abuse you, you will arrange area boys to beat hell out of them. Let them know that if they financially abuse you, you will stop cooking for them. Show them that both gender can do it perfectly well.
Nigerian men genuinely believe they can cheat on you and still claim they love you. Why? Because in their minds, love is not loyalty. Love is provision, as long as they are feeding you, paying bills and meeting responsibilities, many of them think faithfulness is optional. That is one of the greatest damages patriarchy has done to relationships.

Bvs, please I need your view on what happened to me at work.
ReplyDeleteAt my workplace, they serve us lunch around 10am or so, a colleague of mine made a comment yesterday, she made comment about me always eating my food early once we are served.
For context, I earn below 200k and that meal end up being the only thing I eat for the day most times.
I cannot order for snacks or other things they go for in the office because that is my only source of income and I end up with little for savings at the end of the month.
I know for her to say that, it must have been a discussion amongst them.
Please, how best can I go about this?
Delaying my meal till 2pm or 3pm will take a toll on my health especially on days I did not eat anything after work the previous day.
Even if you eat by 2 or 3 pm your colleague go still yap,so eat your your lunch any time you feel like and forget about what she/he will say.
