Zambian model and socialite Lisa Mutambo, 25, has died after reportedly vomiting nd becoming unconscious at her residence in Lusaka’s Kalundu area, shortly after a night out with friends.
According to the Zambia Police Service, the incident was reported at 9:30am on Thursday, August 20, 2026, through Chelstone Police Station. Mutambo was pronounced dead between 3:30am and 4:30am at Victoria Hospital.
Police deputy spokesperson Chipo Kaitisha said Mutambo spent the evening of August 19 with two female friends at a hotel where she served as an ambassador. The trio later moved to another drinking spot in Lusaka and continued socialising.
Her boyfriend arrived between 2:30am and 3:00am, picked up the three women, dropped off Mutambo’s friends in the Minestone/Casanova area, and then took Mutambo to her home in Kalundu.
Upon arrival, Mutambo reportedly began vomiting and became unconscious. Her boyfriend called a friend for assistance, and they rushed her to Victoria Hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
Police said officers processed both the primary and secondary scenes. Her body was first taken to FSG Mortuary and later transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Authorities emphasised that no physical injuries were found on Mutambo’s body and dismissed widespread social media allegations that she had been beaten to death by her boyfriend.
