Ghanaians Totalling 33 Rescued From Alleged Fake UK Travel Camp In Kogi State

Authorities have uncovered a camp in Anyigba, Dekina LGA of Kogi State, where 33 Ghanaians, including 12 women, were allegedly lured to Nigeria with fake promises of travelling to the United Kingdom.

The group was found during a raid by a special team from Ghana after relatives raised alarm over repeated demands for more money. Some victims said they paid up to GH¢300,000, selling their businesses to fund what they believed was a legitimate travel process.

Those found at the camp denied being prepared for illegal migration, and claimed theywere in Nigeria for network marketing under companies …..

Both Ghanaian and Nigerian authorities are investigating the recruitment network behind the scheme, with reports suggesting six similar camps may exist in the area.
