Nigeria has been named the most generous country in the world in the latest World Giving Report by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
The report, which surveyed over 60,000 people across 105 countries, revealed that Nigerians donate an average of 2.8% of their income to charities, religious causes, and people in need, despite the country's economic challenges.

It also found that the top 10 most generous countries are all in Africa and Asia. Globally, 61% of people made financial donations in 2025, down from 64% in 2024.
CAF Managing Director, Mark Greer, said giving is influenced by people's values, experiences, and financial situations, and called for more support from individuals, businesses, and governments to strengthen communities.
