Stephen Keshi Resigns After Exit

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has stepped down from his position after the Super Eagles' exit from the World Cup in Brazil.

France scored twice in the last 11 minutes in Brasilia on Monday to reach the quarter-finals at their expense.
The 52-year-old was appointed Nigeria boss in 2011 and helped them become African champions two years later.
Keshi offered his resignation after last year's Africa Cup Of Nations triumph, citing a lack of support and respect, although he was persuaded to stay by Nigeria's sport minister.
A group stage win against Bosnia-Hercegovina helped Nigeria reach the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time since 1998, despite the players being involved in a row over bonuses.

He becomes the sixth manager to leave his job during the World Cup, following the departures of Luis Suarez, Iran's Carlos Queiroz, Japan's Alberto Zaccheroni, Italy's Cesare Prandelli and Ivory Coast's Sabri Lamouchi.

*He prolly has a new offer....All the best keshi.

    2. @bitchplis. Sammie actually mentioned it yesterday. He said perhaps he can come to Bafana Bafana, thought it was a joke. Good for him then. He still has a job. He did well with the team. Now the NFF can bring in the foreign coach they were dying for. Good luck to Keshi.

  7. He did not leave because of the world cup, he left because he cannot stand the politics in NFF. He is going to be the next Bafana bafana head coach at least he will get all the respect, encouragement and support he wanted. I knew about this move even before the world cup started. Farewell Stephen Kechi the big boss. You don't know what you have till is gone.

  19. I KNOW YU WILL CRASH' PROVIDENCE HAS BEEN TAKING YU ALONG & NIGERIANS WERE BLINDED TO SEE THAT YU HAD NOTHING IN YOUR HEAD.
IN AFRICAN NATIONS CUP,IT WAS INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE THAT WON THE CUP FOR NIGERIA,THERE WAS NO TECHNICAL JOB,NO TEAM CORDINATION, IF ONE PLAYS THE TAPE OF THE TOURNAMENT TO COMPARE YOUR CHANGES,THAT DEFINES THE VACCUM IN YUR HEAD.
YESTERDAY BALL AGAINST FRANCE SEEMS TO START WELL PER INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES,BT WHEN THE GOAL IS NT COMING YU LACK THAT INTERGRITY OF A GOOD COACH. YUR CHANGES WERE WRONG,YU TOTALLY DICONNECT TO A SOLUTION. WE WATCH FOOTBALL ON DAILY BASIS,WE'VE SEEN WHERE COACHES LIKE MOURINHO WERE DESPARATE TO WIN A MATCH & WAS FORCED TO INTRODUCING CLOSE TO 5 ATTACKERS TO GET RESULT.IT WAS A WIN OR LOOSE GAME LIKE THIS ONE WITH FRANCE.
YU SEEM TO BELIEVE YU HAD A WINNING TEAM ON THE PITCH. THATS YUR FAILURE,AS THEY WERE ONLY LUCKY AGAINST BOSNIA.
I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT YU HAD TO OFFER WITH THE TEAM FOR THE TOURNAMENT;SINCERELY YU GOT NOTHING. I WONDER WHY IT HURTS YU WHEN PEOPLE WERE TRYING TO SUGGEST AN INPUT TO THE TEAM,YU TOTALLY FORGOT WHOM YU WERE WHEN YU CAPTAINED THE TEAM. WHEN YU AGREES TO NOTHING THAT DOESNT GO YUR WAY..THAT BOSSY CHARACTER IN YU.
GUY,THANK YOUR STARS, YUR DESTINY IS BRIGHT NOT YUR PERFECTNESS.
