Loyal Dog Found Lying On The Road Where Owner Was Killed

The animal lay at the scene of the accident that killed his owner Kelly Black until her family came to collect him....

In heartbreaking images, canine Paco can be seen lying forlorn and motionless at the spot where owner Kelly Black died.
Police in Jacksonville responded to a call on Friday from someone who found the 42-year-old woman dead in the road.

Police say a semi-truck struck the woman in a nearby convenience store parking lot before dragging her into the street.
They also said that the driver may not be aware that they struck the woman, reports Action News Jax.
According to neighbors, the woman was believed to be walking Paco when the incident occurred.

Residents noticed the dog in the street and local journalist Russell Colborn posted pictures to Twitter of the grieving animal.
Police contacted the woman's family who came to collect Paco.
Family members told residents who had been looking after him that Paco was a rescue dog from the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.

They told local news that the pair were inseparable.

Thankfully, the dog seemed to perk up when reunited with family and could be seen wagging his tail in a video taken by Colborn.

My dogs are my best buddies. When you live with them, you realize how amazing they can be. They are not just animals, they are friends. True friends! The bond when created, is such that lasts forever.

I'd rather have and live with a dog than live with a domestic violent man/husband.

  20. This post just made me feel guilty. I promised my late dad on his dying bed that I was going to keep his dogs. Honestly, I tried, but my work schedule just didn't allow me, coupled with the fact that my dad fed them on pedigree and also bought left overs from eateries. One thing I know for sure is that those dogs were very, very loyal and the night my dad died, they went wild on the neighbours who were taking him to the hospital. They barked endlessly that night he passed on and even months after, they were still doing the same routine my dad taught them. Typing this now makes me realize how much I have really missed my dad's 3 dogs.

  22. I remember the night we forgot to lock the door. One of them came upstairs and luckily, I had fallen asleep in the living room. He licked my legs until I woke up. When he noticed I had woken up, he went back downstairs. When I got outside, the remaining two were at the entrance, protecting the door. Gosh, dogs are faithful abeg.

  29. Our female dog died in the delivery room. Four puppies and they had to be fed with milk n other light food. These dogs grew n refused to eat eba o. Only to lick okro soup with mashed fish, mashed meat ,pap with liquid milk n lots of sugar. Long throat.

We gave out two n kept two. One was later taken by my uncle n we were left with one. That dog was wuuuuuucked. Black shiny fur n shinning eyes. But very loyal.
We went to my villa with him n one day,he disappeared. We searched everywhere to no avail. Three days later,he came home at night. He was scratching at the door n we opened the door.
Brothers n sisters, this dog was caught by a trap somewhere n his fore paw had fallen off after the third day. We were crying n my bro admitted first aid from a distance n we were all waiting for morning to come. After eating,he limped to the corridor to rest. We checked on him then went back. In the morning,he was dead. Everyone was crying. Even my mum who hated dogs n their barkbark.

We got another weeks after we got back home but everyday diff reports. Today,he sratch someone, tomorrow he bite nyash. My dad had to let him go cos he said he believed that dog had ekuke blood in him.
