God Has A Plan

Exodus 2:1-5

1) And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife, a daughter of Levi
2) So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful Child, she hid him three months.
3) But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the Child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river's bank.
4) And his sister stood afar off, to know what will be done to him.
5) Then the daughter of Pharaoh came came down to bathe at the river. And her maiden walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maids to get it.

Virtually everyone is conversant with this story. I love Moses. I love his story and above all, I love what God did through him. Moses what the big boy of the old testament. God did amazing shows through Moses. Infact, God's medium for communication is through dreams and vision but with Moses, He communicated face to face(Exod 33:11).

Life is a battlefield! Life is a lonely business. And oftentimes, In this journey called life, you don't understand your life in real time speed. It is hard to believe that God is with you while you go through trouble. But It is when you come out of that trouble which others didn't survive, you start reflecting that this couldn't have been you but God who saved you!

It is hard to be happy when you are going through tough times. A young boy once told his Dad he wanted to drop out of school. He said he was tired of that environment and his lecturers weren't helping matters. His Dad's response got me caught up. He said, 'Son, the university community is a battlefield. A place where you learn to manage the excesses of your superiors(your lectures), learn to manage your relationship with your colleagues, and above all, get your degrees and leave. You will be grateful you did later on! Sometimes we go through what we go through, for future purposes!

Life is designed to test your staying power!

In our text today, we find this Levite woman, who had a beautiful baby, yet hid him! Why will a woman have a baby and hide him. No woman wants to hide a baby born out of a legitimate union with a man. At least, not in those days.

But she understood the times. She knew that newly born male Hebrew children were being killed, so she secluded him!
Are you trying to showcase yourself to the world when God is trying to hide you because it is not time yet? Sometimes, God may not want your enemies to see you coming! One of the toughest situations to deal with is identifying the hand of God in ones life. You see, we all have never seen the physical hand of God. We only feel it. But how do you identify the hand of God in situations? Did Jochebed(Moses' mother) figure the hand of God on her son?

A lot of people want to be used by God but don't want anybody to use them because being used doesn't feel good. Being used will bruise you. I know a lot of times I've had to talk to people and encourage them, but they had no idea what I was going through.

Whenever you judge your situation in isolation, you are very likely to judge wrongly! If you taste raw Maggi cube, you may puke. But if that same Maggi cube mixes with onion, pepper, salt, curry/tyme etc and is heated in that jollof rice, the taste becomes wow! No wonder the bible says that all things worketh together for good....! The issue is is that you are not reflecting on your previous troubles you went through that you never believed you will survive, yet God saved you and it Thus MADE YOU STRONGER!

From birth, the life of Moses went through stages. The bible tells us that after she hid Moses for three months, she couldn't hide him anymore! So, when Moses was three months old, God must have said, "Boy, it is time for you to go to the palace and get trained!" So God put in Jochebed's heart, a strategy that led Moses to be found by Pharoah's daughter. Can you patiently allow God work His plan in your life?

That strategy wouldn't have emerged if the Hebrew male children weren't being killed. So, Moses probably wouldn't have found himself in the palace if not for trouble! LIFE IS LIKE THE ORANGE FRUIT. IF YOU DON'T PRESS IT, YOU CAN'T EXTRACT THE JUICE. SOMETIMES IF TROUBLE DOES NOT PRESS YOU, THE BEST IN YOU MIGHT NEVER BE DISCOVERED ALL YOUR LIFE!

There are a thousand and one people who have become cynical, disillusioned and perhaps pessimistic about life. But they are not sensitive enough to realise that they are only going through the times. Jochebed had a lovely baby at a difficult time. But she refused to allow the laborious times to truncate the destiny of her baby.

Friend, God has a plan. It may not seem like it, but trust me it is. I know you got into trouble that wasn't your fault, I know you are working so hard in your office, yet the accolade goes to someone else who doesn't do well enough, I know how you feel, being a good girl over the years, yet you see loose girls getting married but you. GOD HAS A PLAN. It will soon start making sense.

Hold on a little more, your turn and your time is about to happen at the same time!
