Actor IK Ogbonna's Wife Sonia Posts Her 2 Cents On Feminism..

IK Ogbonna's wife Sonia has in a post on Instagram shared her two cents on feminism.

Jokers. Lol but y’all dont wanna talk about you NEEDING a woman to step up and take a part of “MALE RESPONSIBILITIES” and participate in hustle EQUALY (if not even more) as men do {cuz nowadays one person making bread can’t feed/sustain the whole family most of the time -meaning men partly failed in fulfilling their fundamental duty-*sorry*notSorry* fact only } or cuz you don’t want a babe who “just sits her ass at home and does nothing”(besides cooking, cleaning, raising kids, taking care of the whole home including you and maybe your parents too)*yuck unattractive* .

You want her to hold you down when times get hard but she must do it with her head down & she can’t just have a mind on her own when it comes to making decisions as she must “submit to u and show respect” so someone won’t feel a less of a man. But then, still expect her to carry on with ALL THE DOMESTIC & NON DOMESTIC DUTIES the very same way your great grandmother from the village did.

Oh wow!

Otherwise we judge- is she really a “wife material” ? Bye! I’m not a bitter lady and I love and respect men (I’m raising one duhh) but don’t ever neglect the fact that A LOT is expected from a woman in this 21st century (it’s not even realistic) and very little credit is given in return, (just childbirth & pregnancy alone-is it beans?lol) and then ,when we stand for ourselves- “feminists this ,feminists that”.

We are indeed super humans. And im so sad when I see a fellow woman who is not aware how important is for us to support each other. And let me tell you straight up- I dont care how much money u make and how independent you are sis, or how strong you are to stand for yourself-you still deserve to be SPOILED and treated like a lady,a Queen that you are by any man who wants to tap into you blessings ,time and space..

Argue with ya whaaaat? 📱you already know😜 All Love 💕

She has always been putting out quotes & motivating speeches!
      And who says shes heartbroken?

    2. Miss Candy, it's not heartbreak but called wisdom. She has spoken fulfilling words and by the way: if heartbreak turns one into a motivational speaker then it means the person has been there, learnt and can also help other ladies or victims get up, move on and see themselves as a success.
Miss candy, you have spoken like an angered and probably a depressed person. Receive some honey into your life Mgbeke 😏

    1. How many women do you know who have ran away from equal responsibilities? Is it not the same Nigeria that women are mostly the breadwinners while the men bark up and down “I’m the head! Respect me! Bla bla bla. A lot of them leave most financial, domestic and logistics responsibilities to the woman while they run around with girls outside only to chip in here and there into the home but the whole world would hear it when the chip in once in a blue moon.

Abeg Stella, make a post about how people are living in homes so we can all read because I know a lot of wives shouldering everything at home but the husbands take the glory as per “tradition and good wife tings”

  7. Crying victim as usual.I think reverse is actually the case. For example, whatever sacrifice a father makes, much of the credit goes to mothers.Again,an unemployed woman can proudly say she is getting married.Let a an unemployed man try it and he will likely be mocked. Why do you think they say being a man is not easy?Every gender has its cross though

  10. Naija girl's definition of feminism:
    Marry an abroadian
    Get papers
    Get pregnant and breed babies
Call the cops on him for DV
Chase him out and inherit everything -house, cars child support
You don't need him again, now "a feminist"
Go social media begin "feminist yarns", na online church be dat.

If you like, make you argue am; I know two women now now,
one from my town, another na neighbor, wey show the men them
pepper. The second case; the man been dey street the last time wey them
sight am, im loss job of course.

  12. Historically, feminism has been anathematized by men but apparently the reverse is the case in Nigeria. It's women that are against feminism and I just SMH. Even the bible says women should be subject to THEIR OWN husbands not to men generally. So when you are denied equal access to education, employment opportunities, family rights still and so on still say God forbid to feminism.
The problem is well don't understand what feminism is in Nigeria, so called feminists think it's just about not cooking for their husbands and not kneeling down. Feminism is totally different from gendered roles and gender stereotypes.
But Nigerian women can be pardoned for their ignorance, it riles me that the freedom we enjoy today and take for granted is because some feminists struggled for it. As a woman you are educated, you are working, you own a bank account, you can vote, you own properties and you think it's just normal. These things didn't happen overnight , just some years ago, women didn't have equal access to education, they couldn't hold jobs, open bank accounts without their husbands, they couldn't own properties in fact whatever their fathers gave them automatically belonged to their husbands and he could do whatever he wanted including keeping mistresses with the wife's money. What happens when the husband dies? Even though she brought the money into the marriage as dowry from her father's house and it was controlled by the husband, after his death the money (her own money)still doesn't belong to her. It will go to her son if she's lucky to have one, if she has daughters the money goes to her husband's closest male relative and she ends up in poverty.
She has no right over her reproductive health. I really can't write. I just wish Nigerian women would think before bashing the feminist agenda and be grateful for the fIght of the early feminists.

    1. 1 million likes for your comments. Most Nigerian women have porous brain. They are against feminists for no cogent reason. They forget that feminists are the reason they have access to education, they are the reason they are not sold out to marriage at 13.
Infact no strength to type; I usually leave some of them to keep wallowing in ignorance

    2. THANK YOU MY DARLING!!
I'm sick and tired of dumb women that write dumb shit about feminism. You enjoy voting, reproductive health rights and education and yet you turn around to bash the feminists that made that possible.
      Read, they will not.
No wonder they're so dumb men take advantage of them easily

    5. You are brilliant..👍. Some people can't just read to understand what feminism is all about. They just assume all sorts and abuse feminists. If they truly understood, even men who have daughters, mothers, sisters and loved females around them would be grateful for it. It is simply a movement that seeks fair/same favourable treatment for the girl child/women in a patriarchal society as well as the male child/men. It doesn't preach against men at all. SMH.

    6. God bless you plenty for this comment. The average Nigerian (woman) has no clue of what feminism is. It's not about hatred and disrespect for men, it's all about what u typed up there. Me sef I'm tired of trying to correct their warped views abeg. These days when I hear so-called grown and educated women chant all those 'i'm not a feminist and I hate feminism' nonsense, I just tell them to prove it by moving to Saudi Arabia and never coming back. Then I'd believe them. Nonsense.

  14. I am a proud feminist.
No man takes care of me.
I split the bills with my man and therefore I have an equal say in whatever goes on the house.
Anyone who says otherwise is just chatting rubbish.

  15. I didn't bother reading that post up there because as usual it is coming from someone that totally has no idea about what feminism is all about and as usual the comments are from people who have no clue themselves about what feminism is.An average Nigerian would rise against anything that gives a woman a voice. I would plead with you guys to read Chimamanda's two notes on feminism to fully understand a feminism standpoint. With all due respect Stella,You should try read them too. I strongly believe that those books would perhaps change your attitude towards feminism and not necessarily turn you into one.

  16. Dear Sonia, how is what you wrote up there related to feminism?

You're right though at your last line, no matter the amount a woman makes, her man still needs to spoil her with gifts
