  1. I wonder why Nigerians make promises we "forget" to keep or rather put, why do we enjoy scoring cheap points at the expense of others?

    STORY!

Y'all recall when there were series of bomblasts in Abuja yh? A friend of mine was a victim of one. I stayed with her most of the time in the hospital and I recall many individuals and organisations come in to visit and question her.

Now, this organisation that's supposed to fight for justice or something like that  (popular govt name oh) came and asked if she worked which she replied affirmative and further explained she was on her way to work when tg e ugly incident happened. They asked if she had heard from her office, she said not yet, however, they were aware so she was told, her office was to pay her regardless of how many days she had (and would) missed and Was to give some damages as it happened in line of duty and so many things the office was to do "according to the constitution" and if the office went against It, they should be contacted and would take it up from there. They took her number to keep in touch. This was one out of the many "keep in touch with us and we have an opening for you" from other organisations oh. Huge ones at that! I was even teasing that God had butter her bread oh and she should help me when I graduate (Was still a student). Well, we were more excited bout this Justice people.

Fast forward to 2 week after, the office called and said they will pay her for just the 1 week she had worked prior the incident and went ahead to explain that she needed to "rest" hence her contract would be on "hold" till she was fully whole.... these guys never came to visit as a body Oh, just individuals on personal level. They ddnt even bring Lipton!

Fast forward to 1 year, this office of hers  (big organisation too with a world known name)kept telling her to hold on and to this moment, they never "had a space for her" and even the 1week salary not paid. I kid you not.

This girl became jobless for over 2years, all the promises of good jobs was forgotten and all she got was "You mean you were a bomblast victim, I'm so sorry".....  Our Justice fighters nko?  Let's just say her file is still being processed 😏. This happened in 2014 Right, no positive news till now except we are still on it?

I read the news of soldiers dying, I hear the promises made to their family and I just shake my head. The only promise these "big names" remember are the ones they make to themselves and it's super sad.

    3. Justice system and Human Rights commission is dead in Nigeria. I remember I petitioned the Human Rights commission when I was 3months prpregnant. My husband was misbehaving and wasn't taking care of me even though he had money. I had to move out of he house too because the beatings were too much. This yeye organization kept processing my file till I delivered. Could you believe this people called when my son was 8months plus? They're all a set of useless waste of fund. Human Rights, legal aid, social welfare etcet. Just a bunch of bribe hungry, pot bellied men and women farting in the office.

I have a feeling the Recharge card seller was cheated. For her to have agreed to payment after it except she ddnt think people will acknowledge but you said you explained your fears to her.
I think someone around her probably loaded some of the cards without her knowledge or something.

No one wants to feel cheated or not trusted so I understand both of you.

    10. So many people do not know that promise and fail can bring a curse.
You will promise someone and give the person hope only for you to start playing the person or go mute. If that person experience pains as a result of user promise and fail, like borrowing or buying on credit after you promised and now facing disgrace or losing some opportunities in some cases, if the person curses you in that pain and with tears, the curse will have effect on you. Why promise when you know you cannot fulfil it?

She might be innocent or guilty but we cant ascertain. No need for all those verification thing, etc.
I heard recharge cards biz has very little gain. So, for some to supply you here, it means she is struggling financially. She might have even borrowed the 50k to enable her supply the cards.
Paying half and all that will make her incure a hug debt she might not be able to pay.
She boldly agreed you pay her after shoki night is over; if she had shady deal in mind, she wouldn't do that.
Pls pay her in full. Let the loss be your Christmas giveaway to her pls.

There's a place for everything, a place for faith and a place for work, real hard work.
Some also feel too dignified for some type of hustle, there is no hustle too dirty as long as it is law abiding and fair (law of the heavens and earth),don't be too big to look for your breakthrough.
For those who prefer to receive than to give, have you ever thought of the sweat that was broken to be a giver. Why do you struggle to be handed the fish and not learning to fish for yourself, do something, there's always something to do. Stay woke!

  43. Stella just the woman her money. It’s an unfortunate development but shit happens. I personally don’t support airtime giveaway. Cash giveaways always have a more profound effect on the winners.

    1. Exactly.
Airtime giveaways to me makes little impact. Non BVs can even load all the cards and not comment. Some people will tell their village people to login and load osho free. Cash giveaways are still the best.

Stella nwanyioma, maybe just resort to sending airtime by inbox only, the ones that will be posted on the blog will be those sent in by some BVs or just an impromptu posting.

  49. Halloo
I'm so happy as I type this.
So I changed my princess school when they resumed for this session. Her former school was so annoying. Imagine a big school with good structures and facilities, one of the most talked about around, rendering poor services. Poor teachers with very local accent and poor English orientation. A teacher will be asking her pupil 'who pollute?' instead of 'who farted?'
My daughter will come home and tell me how she corrected her teacher on simple words. They will give home-work and mark rubbish. Several times like that.
There was one occasion they did 'items in the kitchen' and I told her to write 'motar and pestle', The stupid teacher corrected it and wrote 'mortal and pestil'. Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa

I died and woke up that day. I stormed the school the following morning and told their proprietor to start giving her teachers English lessons.

Well, this new school is cheaper and waaaaay better in quality. Their school fees is half of what I was paying in the 'mortal' school but they have less facilities, no big playground and the likes.. I don't mind o, they teach well, full montessori. My daughter now speaks British English at home, chai! Come and see her correcting me
    Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa.
When I say God she will tell me it is pronounced as 'gard'
'her' is pronounced as 'heir', woman is pronounced as 'women' while women is pronounced as 'wimin'. 'to' is 'teo' 'tomorrow ' is 'teomaro' 'love' is 'lav'
    Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa
    I yaff died
We die in this new school ooo. We must have that accent by fire.
I was contemplating taking her to a good government school for her secondary education like all these Model colleges but with what I am seeing, she will do everything in this school or I upgrade her to a better one where they also give them 'accent'.
Yes o, that accent is very important o, she is beautiful, smart, intelligent, make accent sef join the list abeg.
By next year when she will be in what they call primary 3 in some schools, I will get her a private Maths teacher, she must rule over Maths, till today, I don't know maths, I won't let vat happen to her.. As our mothers no sabi all this kain thing, wey dem carry us put for one kain LGA primary school, make we build our children abeg.

Ps though u broke my heart that year but ive forgiven u

    4. Hope they are sound in other areas too and not only in teaching locally acquired foreign accent, aka lafa...
At the end of the day, it's not by name and how expensive it is. Glad your daughter is doing great in her new school.

    5. The presidet nherself...ikwakwakwakwakwakwak. Yes...this accent must be gotten. It's quite unfortunate some schools are nothing to write home about.

I heard one the other day, her students were writing something from the text book, at a place they wrote ' the music was sung by...' She told them to correct it to ' the music was sing by...''I wanted to correct her but didn't even know how to.
Anway, God bless teachers. Their reward is in heaven

All these our yeyebrities wey dey speak am, na all of them travel out?
They are trying in other areas too, it is a new school, they are still developing. They have a French teacher, a music teacher and a very good Maths teacher too.

    11. Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa

      I just remembered something.

The first day I met their proprietor, we were talking in his office, the man has this heavy British accent, he was telling me about his teachers, how he trains them from time to time bla bla bla.
So he was telling me they know their job well and all that. I didn't hear him well, infact I was straining my ears all the while, so he referred to 'job' as 'jab'
Local me did not know, I thought he said 'hijab'
I now asked 'you mean they use hijab?'
He said 'no, I mean they know their 'jab', the 'teachehs'

      Ikwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwakwa

Since then, I don't engage him in any conversation whenever I meet him,i just greet and move.

  52. No be today mago mago love begin. I've just read of the story of a 22 year old Esther Johnson, infamously known as "Ada Ocha Ntu" in the 1950s.

Well, Ada murdered her Oyinbo expatriate lover named Mark Hall in 1953 after she learnt he had used the £400 she gave him as a loan to marry his English bride while on holiday in the UK. He also used the change to buy his new wife a car, which she would use as a taxi.

He came back to Nigeria, informed Ada of what he had done with her money and a very infuriated Ada stabbed him with a pair of scissors. Mark later died from injuries sustained from the scissors attack.

She was imprisoned, tried, sentence to death but the sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment. During Nigeria's 1st independence celebration the Governor General, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe pardoned her and thus she was released. She was pardoned on the grounds that her crime was A CRIME OF PASSION.

Her story went viral worldwide, which was covered by the New York Times and The Telegraph

At least, there was honesty back in those days unlike what we have now.
