Kano Govt Revokes Contracts Of Contractor Who Filmed Ganduje Bribe Videos

The Kano State Government has revoked three contracts awarded to Tiamin Multi Services Ltd, a company belonging to Aminu Mohammed.

Mr Mohammed is believed to be the contractor behind the videos showing the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, receiving money from contractors.

The three projects were worth N1.6 billion. The state commissioner of information, Mohammed Garba, announced the cancellation at a widely reported press briefing on Friday, on the resolutions of the State Executive Council.

The state government gave “non-performance” as the reason behind revocation, which affected Tiamin and one other company, FNL Engineering Limited. It is unclear if the second company is also linked to Mr Mohammed.

The other two projects by the same contractor revoked by the government are roads linking different parts of Bichi and Fagge local government areas. Mr Garba said the road projects in Bichi and Fagge were awarded on August 2, 2017 and November 13, 2017 with completion period of four months and 14 months respectively.

He said the contracts were revoked based on the contractors’ inability to complete the projects despite collecting respective advance payments of N204 million and N96 million.

Mr Ganduje is enmeshed in the bribe-taking scandal in spite of his denial and his suit against the news platform and its publisher, Jaafar Jaafar. On Thursday, Mr Buhari re-echoed the dilemma he expressed at the party meeting on the irony of campaigning for Mr Ganduje with the allegation still around the governor’s head.

Mr Buhari mocked the governor for going to the extent of receiving the bribes personally and “smiling”. He said he hoped the issue would be cleared before his scheduled campaign visit to Kano and suggested the videos could have been doctored.

Buhari has so much disappointed me in his anti-kwaruption dance.
"video might have been doctored?", really? How about a "pharmacised" video?
Oh I wish the credible candidates against Buhari are well supported financially. Nigeria does not have campaign fund drive culture like in other democracies.

    1. Stella, I don't expect this kind of comment from your person ,if we all **face front** you will not have a country to visit or return to. We need to keep encouraging people to stand for the truth. Never mind that Gandollar is looking victorious for now, but as long as GOD Almighty lives, one day he will give account. This is why we are asking all well meaning Nigerians to vote Atiku.

  4. This is so pathetic and disgraceful about the woes that have engulfed this country. Was Trump actually right about his remarks on the Africa continent?. The damage done in this country is monumental. The 'President' said he don't know the technology used over that video implying that Ganduje will walk free out of the crime. What has happened to the panel investigating this matter? This are one among the many reasons people don't report crimes in Nigeria, for nothing always come out of it. We have gotten so used of evil and wickedness that it stink to the highest heaven. Shame to the Kano state house of assembly. Shame to the Kano state intellectuals and shame to the Federal government of Nigeria. I am not surprise remembering the facts that these are black species of the human race and as such their brains are equally black and have been substituted with something more of a wood as a result of long years of their suffering and hardship. Being born black is really a crime.

    1. Didn't immunity covered Fayose when his account was frozen? We should stop giving excuses with this immunity nonsense, it has really made a mess of the system and a time to scrap it off.
