  4. Lady T/worth more than a thousand dollars19 January 2019 at 14:20

I was serving and went to visit this family.
I knew the wife through a cousin from another university different from the one I graduated from. So when I got to the city my cousin told me about her friend who i knew. So from time to time I visited her and the family. Her hubby was a friendly fellow. We will gist and that's it.

One day I went to visit them, and she was cooking in the kitchen but from time to time will come in and say one or two things and leave. And yes they had about 2 girls then. I was talking and asking him if he knew anyone who will be interested in a large number of crate of eggs. I had a friend working in a farm. Anyway, as far as I know, The lady was hearing us. Anyway, she had it planned.

She came out, and sat down. Then she says to me its like you will stop coming to our house. And at first I didn't know what was up then she said I've been organising babes for her hubby. Me, from where? I hardly knew anyone to that level. In fact she walked me out of her house in the presence of her hubby. What could he say. He was embarrassed.

It was later I knew he was coming to our lodge to see a tribal Lady of his. They were the same tribe. So I never assumed there was anything. Until I told the corper and she told me not to bother. That she was not going out with the man. But they knew each other. But of course she wasnt close to the wife and would not go to their house. Naive babe that I was at the time. I cried my eyes out over that accusation. I called my cousin and told her. I told her I will never do a thing like that. That's one painful accusation I remember. Though the pain is no longer there.

  11. I live with my cousin years back she came back from school boiling (she teach in a very good private school)so I asked what the problem was she said the cleaner stole her money,I asked how did she know, she said immediately she arrived in the morning she left her bags in the class with just the cleaner present and when she went back her back was moved to another location really is that all,she said yes much later she was looking for her 5k so she pleaded with the Cleaner if she saw the money. My sister went and reported to the head teacher, that one called emergency meeting searched the cleaner's bag saw so many children's snacks and drink wow, it's no longer money but snacks and drink, nobody gave her a chance to speak they label her thief and that the next day she should come with her guarantor, she was crying and begging that she did not steal any money.
I stood in wonderment, I spoke to my cousin why did she go to that length especially when you did not see her taking the money, she said I should forget that thing,so I reminded her that she asked the girl staying with her to collect money and we should ask her were she collect it from, she said "No I asked her to take from the wardrobe" I said OK for clarity sake let's ask. Lo and behold the girl collected the money from aunt's bag,my cousin screamed how will she face the cleaner, the teachers and every body,I told her to do the right thing she said she can't that she will still pretend, after much talk she agreed, place a call to the headteacher, some teachers and explain the situation. The next day at school she looked for the cleaner but she did not resume, late in the afternoon she came with the uncle a strong native doctor, that my cousin and the cleaner will take an oath, they don't steal in he's family,my cousin and some other teachers pleaded with him and the cleaner for forgiveness, she gave the cleaner 3k for all her troubles.
Case one closed, what about the snacks and drink, the school refused oo that she must be sacked,my cousin went around lobbying and pleading till they agreed to look into it,it turned out that the children have been the ones giving the cleaner their snacks and drinks but they warned her to stop accepting it,did I type this .

    2. Something not so similar happened to one of our former cleaners. She went to the bank to withdraw cash and suddenly one man said he was looking for his phone and immediately accused this cleaner cos she was standing close to him.

She of course told him she knew nothing about his phone but for where, nothing like that.

Before u know, security has taken over. Everyone had already believed this woman took his phone, probably because she looked poor.

Next thing, they went and brought one police woman. In the process of crying and pleading her innocence, police woman slapped this lady.

Her saving grace was that she was not stopped from making a call. She immediately called our boss and explained anything. She gave the phone to the police woman and my boss explained to her that this woman had never been accused of stealing anything from the school. But still the police woman wasn't having it and was insisting on taking the woman to the station. BTW, this is a lil bit advanced married woman with kids.

Our boss then immediately called the manager (it's d same bank she uses to pay salary) and then sent a staff to the bank.

The manager wasn't even aware of all that was going on, or maybe he was pretending not to and minding his business.

It was immediately when the manager came out and met the crying woman that he decided that they should watch the Cctv

The Cctv showed clearly how a man took the phone after the owner kept in carelessly on the table while filling the teller and then immediately walked out of the bank.

Oh God! What happened later is better left imagined. This woman started crying and rolling on the floor after being vindicated.

The next day I actually told her to sue the bank and then to sue the police woman for the slap. I think they were going that direction but I don't know if they finally got justice as she resigned not so long after

She called me on phone and rain all kinds of insults on me and family. I kept saying mummy, I didn't Stael your documents. But she kept saying I'm a thief. I called hubby immediately to tell him what happened. He was angry and called his mum who still stood her grounds. My sil later called me to plead that I forgive mil cos they finally found the paper. But mil didn't call me. Since then, I cut my frequent visit to twice a year. Though we're in the same city.

  20. When I was in jss1 in LSMCM I had a friend named Bola we shared a seat but I had some other friends too that we take the same route after close of school.

On this unfortunate day, a classmate money fell on the floor #20 and it was Bola who saw it, she showed me the money and asked me to hide it in my school bag that later we would return it after the person must have cried, naive me collected the money and did as told.

Later, the owner of the money started looking for it and myself and Bola were laughing away just then our class teacher Mrs Babafemi came in and the student complained to her, she came over to our seat and before I knew what was happening Bola told her I stole the money that its in my bag😢😢.

I was trying to explain what we planned that it was Bolas idea but nobody even cared, my bag was searched and the money was found there. God, I was dragged to the front of the class and flogged, it didn't end there everyone started avoiding me, my friends stopped walking home with me and I became a loner.

Then on the day of aviation, when my mum came to collect my report card, my class teacher still told her and my mum told my teacher that she knows I don't steal but she will beat me for been foolish and she really dealt with me.

  22. If I have been accused wrongly, it means the hurt is no longer there because I cannot remember. I remember an incident when I finished secondary school and friends were going about visiting each other. I wanted to go see friends but my mom refused and I insisted. I was really stubborn then. Then there was this corps member that would come to our house being in a strange land we were the only people close to relatives for him. He came and left and I took my handbag and left to go visit my friends. After the visit, I went home only for my mom to say she knows I went to see the guy. Chai!!! I cried almost blood. Virgin me that didn’t get to do anything till my 300level and to think that JAMB jammed me a lot oo.. Anyway it was later she realized the kind of daughter she had. You hear things like “ of all my children......” Whew!!!!

I have accused someone wrongly. I washed a dress with my new bar soap, went into the room and came out only not to see the soap. A hostel mate of ours who everyone knew was a liar at that time was washing with the same type of soap. I asked her why she was using my soap and she gently said it wasn’t mine. I was fuming because I thought she was bold face lying and she insisted and said her roommate gave her the soap. Roommate appeared and denied giving her any soap. My shouting increased. There was nothing I didn’t call her and she was just saying all the time it wasn’t mine. I left her and went into my room. After sometime, I went to pick something from my locker only to see my soap lying there 🤦‍♀️ I no talk oo... I quietly went to lie down my conscience pricking me. Though we later became close, I never told her what happened. I still feel like I should tell her yes or no? From that day, if I don’t see with my eyes, I’m not saying even if every other person sees I have to see for myself.

  23. I have been wrongfully accused before. Back in secondary school, our school mate stole money from another name miss F. Before then Miss F and I used to keep money together but a day to the act, I collected my money from miss F. So when Miss F Money got missing everyone pointed finger at me including my best friend, my best Friend swore she saw me taking the money, they all started calling me thief in the whole school. I was devastated as a child. I cried so much. Then I began reading psalm 109 and one day on Sunday, I prayed seriously to be vindicated when the priest was raising the blessed sacrament at mass. On that same day after praying at the blessed sacrament. Miss J returned back to school cause she took permission so no one can suspect her. She came and called Miss F that she’s restless and wants to confess that she’s the one who stole the money. That she took it when she requested for miss F key that she wanted to copy note and she knew they won’t suspect her cause I was the only one with Miss F spare key,She started asking for forgiveness, that was how everyone apologized to me. And my best friend was ashamed. This is like 16years ago but it still hurts. God is the ultimate. And the only answer when you are accused.

  24. My boyfriend's cousin tried to sleep with me. He locked me up but I screamed after so much struggles and people outside heard my shouts and threatened to break the door.
So many years later he saw my picture in my boyfriend's house and warned him seriously not to have anything to do with me. He told them that he disvirgined me and that he treats me like a dog cos whenever he needs sex, he calls and I'm there. That was how my boyfriend left me. 10 years later he realised I was still a virgin but it was too late. I had moved on but still afraid of men and I couldn't even love again.

  25. Early last year at Ikeja city mall, I and brother had gone to buy a new phone for him and he gave me the old one to repair. At the cell phone repair shop in the mall I priced the screen replacement and it wasn't favourable, so we left. Only for the shop attendants to come and drag me back to shop to view CCTV footage of a missing phone. It was CCTV footage and the cloth I wore that saved me that day. Imagine it was in a market setting! Jungle justice sharply.

  26. Hmmmmm....Mine is still a mystery to me. I travelled all the way to Ph to see my then boyfriend, when he was leaving in the morning, he brought out a wrap of 500 naira notes, counted 10k from the money and gave me to make soup and stew for him. Before my very eyes, he put the remaining money in the drawer and left for work. He also asked the driver to take me to the market, when I got back, I decided to help him do some cleaning. I helped him arrange his dirty clothes that has piled up, I also saw a lot of money dollars inclusive which I neatly arranged and kept on the table. Fast forward to when he got back in the evening, he was happy I helped him clean up and promised to take me to Dubai the next week. He actually called the agent in my presence and we forwarded our passport details to him to commence with the visa process. Later in the evening, I was lying down on the bed when he came to get some cash from the drawer, low and behold, the money was missing. Of course, I was his suspect!...... I cried like I never cried before. Let me also add that I locked his bedroom door before going to the market and that was the only time I stepped out of the house.....He lives in a duplex, has security men at the gate and also a live in boy help that helps with household chores. Till date, I don't know what happened to that money and that incident caused our breakup. In fact, the next day, he booked my flight and told me he has an emergency meeting in bony island. Anytime I remember that incident, I feel so sad and angry cos I'm still trying to figure what really happened to that money.

  29. Been in such a situation in secondary school. That incident marred me till date, young as I was it's affected my relationship with others, I can't even trust anyone enough to call them my best friend because my supposed best friends then ganged up against me to accuse me of stealing a school skirt. We were about 4 close friends in a federal girls school, it was in those days when the school skirt material was always so hard to get in the market which meant you had to purchase school skirts, berets from school directly. We were a group of about 4 friends. One was supposed to be a year ahead but she repeated,of all I was closest to fola**** . I thought things were good with us as friends as we were all in the same class, same dormitory , went for prep together , class etc so you can imagine when they suddenly called me one day into their midst and said this my very closest friend fola**** had lost her school skirt and they KNOW I stole it and they just want me to say yes. I was totally shocked and broken inside, I kept insisting I didn't but the oldest of us who was supposed to be a year ahead kept insisting along with the other , they kept saying just say yes. I even tried to show them all the skirts I had which clearly had my name, sown into it, my supposed best friend had taught us all this trick to prevent us from loosing our items as her mother was a seamstress and that's how they labelled all her school items . I tried to even say to them I couldn't steal a skirt and not keep it in my locker and offered to have them search my items,my locker, box, school bag just to be sure but all fell on deaf ears. I looked at my friend and she looked away, in that moment I knew I could never trust anyone in this life. As she looked away she said you too say yes! I broke down and cried so bitterly whilst admitting to something I didn't do. This is one memory that I will never be able to get over. I realised later they wanted me out of their group ,the supposedly missing skirt mysteriously surfaced, perhaps it was never even missing to start with, but I know and am certain none of my children will attend a boarding school or be so far away that I can't be there to support them emotionally. Till date i struggle to figure why it happened, we were just kids, how could they have possibly imagined such wickedness because they didn't want me to be a part of them any more but I guess God wanted me to learn someone about trust and human relationships at a young age and I did learn. Sometimes I see people saying friends betray them and I smile, a betrayer isn't born over night, it's always been in them to betray or be terrible. Now I try as much as I can to instill values of self worth, confidence and independence in my kids and people around me. As for them, I forgive them and thank them for the memories.

    Please pardon my typos.

My heart broke when I got to where the friend looked away. Madam I understand how you still feel but do not limit your children. It’s good you are instilling in them those values. Allow experience boarding school if they want to with those values I’m sure they will handle tough situations.

  30. It happened to me in secondary school, my yoruba teacher came into the class, called me out and started flogging me, her reason was that I came late to school when I usually get to school late 7:30 because my house was far from school so I usually left home not later than 6:30 so I that the traffic won't delay me. I later got to know that she thought I was one girl in another arm and the funny part is that I and the girl come from different locations. I cried my eyes out that day because I did nothing to warrant such beatings and the fact that she just didn't like me when most of my teachers really liked me.
Iya yoruba I forgive you for all the times you flogged me unjustly.
