Police Rescue 3 Kidnapped Undergraduates.....

The Kaduna State Police Command have rescued three students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, abducted on Monday along Abuja-Kaduna highway.

The Command’s Public Relations Officers, DSP Yakubu Sabo, however, said in a press statement issued on Wednesday in Kaduna, that three other persons were still being held by the kidnappers.

“The Command wishes to state that, on the said date, August 26, at about 18:50hrs, Armed Men in Military Uniform intercepted some commuters near Masari Village along Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, opened fire on the vehicles, in the process kidnaped six persons.

“However, due to the prompt response of the Police and other security agents to the scene, three people were later released by the hoodlums due to intensive combing within the general area.”

“The Command wants the public to note that, while regretting the unfortunate incident, the story being circulated on the incident is a gross exaggeration and misrepresentation of fact aimed at causing more fear in the minds of the public.

“Thus, the Command enjoins the general public to jettison such report as a misleading information.
Consequently, the press should continue to uphold high ethical standard of their profession.”

The command also appealed that all accounts of crimes be verified before publication to avoid sharing falsehood.

  1. For now I will advice people to stop travelling at night or follow all those big luxurious buses. May God continue to protect us in this country. Everyone in the northern part of Nigeria now lives in fear.

    1. The kidnappings on that road happens on broad day light o. Reason why big men go to Kaduna these days by train. Go to train station and see for yourself.
Meanwhile, Luxurious bus from Abuja to Kaduna or Kano is very impossicant mi dear. I mean they are short distance States from each other.

  2. Eeerrrm, the brother tonone of the ladies said they were actually released but not with the help of the police nor Kaduna state government. Contact was made by the kidnappers, ransom shared amongst 3 families and paid and students released. Police had no hand.
I wonder why despite all the outcry, that road is still a death trap

    1. Exactly what I saw on Twitter. The brother to one of them said that ransome was paid.
Nigeria police likes to claim glory .

      May God keep us safe.

    2. Just negodu!! Thank God for them.

  3. I hope the other 3 will be rescued too.

  4. Thank God.
I pray the remaining victims be released unhurt.

  5. I hope the other 3 will be rescued too.

  6. It is well oh!

That high ways scares me a lot i am happy very soon I will stop traveling that route. The kind of prayers I use to pray when going to Edo state from kano is not here abeg!

  7. Thank God for using the police to rescue the students,if they continue like this who are we to castigate the Nigeria Police. Let today continue on a positive note.

  8. ThankGod for their lives, i hope the remaining 3 will be rescued too

  9. When Abuja airport was closed and Kaduna airport had to be used, there were checkpoints at almost every 5km or less. Since they reverted to Abuja, the road has been abandoned. Suddenly nobody remembers where Kaduna- Abuja express way is again. I mean is that even in Nigeria?😏. They way we play with human lives in this country is second to none. Every issue is handled with laxity until it blows out of proportion. People should just take the trains till our government remembers where kaduna-abuja express way is

  10. Stella the brother of one of the kidnapped victims said otherwise oh. He said they paid ransomed and negotiated for 2days for the release and that the police did nothing.
See the shameless way they came to claim glory for what they didn't do.
