ReplyDeleteMy grandma has experienced this several times. She even says it like it's nothing. She is gifted spiritually so doesn't fear things.
DeleteThis stuff usually happens when the person involved hasn't heard about the victims death.
One time when I was young, I was in my grandma's place and she saw her old tenant walk past the street. She called out to him but he didn't come just kept walking and she found it strange he will come to the area without stopping by. Because he's close to the family. She delivered all their kids as a matron.
Anyway next day she received news that the man had died two days before.

ReplyDeleteWhy growing up, our then landlord died in the morning very far from home, later in the evening, the friend came to the compound to see him and was told the man died in the morning, the friend said which man died? Someone I saw this afternoon wearing his white garment and he told me he was on his way back from church😳 everyone was shocked.
ReplyDeleteI have written something like this on this blog before. We went for a classmate's father's burial in 2001. After the funeral mass, we(students) went to their house in Ibadan. I was the first to enter the living room and I saw the man seated in white gown. As I Yoruba girl, I greeted him thinking he was a twin. The other students didn't see him neither did they greet. Few days after, my friend returned to school and I told her about her father's twin and she said he is not a twin. I know the man very well because he was a philanthropist and very humble.

He married one of my town woman and have kids but he refused d wife knowing his roots and rumors has it maybe he's dead,so he doesn't want d wife to find that out

DeleteI doubt this story. Take a look at the whatsapp chat of Buchi(who saw the ghost) and Ugo (a friend). The amount of info Buchi downloaded to the friend at first chat was quite a lot. Not only hey, I ran into Willie today o or hey guess who I saw today.. but in one paragraph - I saw Willy, he looked sick, he gave me gold, the gold is for this...blabla. How does the 'trusted friend' in one swoop give away all the details he was given, including what the gold was for?
ReplyDeleteThen the Ugo friend replies 'which Williams?' But Buchi never mentioned Williams..he said Willy. Not just Willy but 'Willy Nwa Aba' - very distinct. People who are known by such distinct names/nicknames don't need any further explanation of who they are. Unless Ugo does not know him well. And if he doesn't, why will Buchi download all that info of Willy to a friend who doesn't seem to know him well?
Then when Ugo realizes Willy is the Williams he knows is dead, he doesn't immediately call out of fear or shock..naah..he goes on to patronize Buchi immediately... 'Ah, he chose you, you are a good friend, he wants the money to reach his family'. And the patronizing part came before Buchi explains about Willy's family's leaking roof in detail. Naah, the reaction I expect from Ugo is shock and fear and calling him immediately to verify, to confirm, to hear more. As a Nigerian no matter how noisy, they will find a place to call you IMMEDIATELY. But no, He was conveniently in a noisy place so that the chat (they hope to go viral) can continue.
My Verdict: Chat may be doctored
Also, Willy Willy was the name of a popular ghost character of the 1990s.

Why don't you speak for what You would do if you were in this situation rather than saying 'all Nigerians'. People do not behave alike when confronted with scary or bad news.

Things like his are not new, it usually happens when a person died before their time. The guy lie his mother, is very possible he came back to finish up that building for his mother before they killed him. If he didn't see that guy he will continue to look for a way to send the money to his mother. That his uncle will suffer it with his children very soon.
ReplyDeleteOkay for those of you who don’t believe this story. It happened to my family. My uncle who lives in Lagos came to visit us in delta. He came on Friday and left on Sunday evening around 6pm with agofure bus. Around 2am someone with agofure called my dad, that their bus got in an accident and my uncle died. My dad woke us all up, called my other uncles that midnight, we were crying. My other uncles that lived close by came that night to our house, they contemplated on how to inform my uncles wife, because she was pregnant at that time. Some of my uncles suggested calling, while some said no, that going to Lagos to inform her personally would be better because of her condition. They finally appointed my dad to go to Lagos and inform her. The next day, my dad got on the road to Lagos. On getting there my uncles wife was surprised, and my dad tried to explain the situation to her, she didn’t believe and was almost insulting my dad. That he’s wishing evil on her husband. She said she spoke to him that morning around 8am. My dad said it’s not possible that someone from agofure called him to inform him of the accident. My dad asked her which number he called with, so they can call him back. She said his office phone, that he told her that their bus developed a little fault on their way around ore, so they got to Lagos really late and he decided to lodge at a close by hotel and go to work from there that morning, that he’ll be back home once he closes from office and he even asked her to make him Banga soup. So my dad and uncles wife got on the road to my uncles office. On getting there, the found out that he was truly at that office that morning, he even signed his name on the attendance register. They said he greeted everyone in the morning when he came in and he got in his office but rushed out later that he’s not feeling too good. My dad told them the whole story they didn’t believe, so his boss took my dad and my uncles wife to agofure office, they told them what happened and they gave them a mortuary address where they put his body. They went there and it was him. No injuries just a scratch to his leg. And he was the only person that died in the crash. Later on sha, after my dad came back for our family to prepare for the burial, he said the room that my uncle slept during his stay at our house, he would hear the door opening and closing at night and he would go check and there is no one there. If he close the door and return there some hours later he would meet it open or vice versa. So my dad believed my uncle was present in our house that time. It’s real it happens and unexplainable.
