BRT Reportedly Increases Fare In Lagos Due To COVID 19 Impact...

Primero Transport Services Limited, the operators of the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT)has reportedly increased fares by about 50 per cent.

The company announced on Thursday that it had gotten approval to increase the fares....

If you are affected by this increase, tell us the route you ply and how much was added to the old fare....

No doubt this increase will impact heavily on those who do not have cars and ply long routes to work...I mean, salaries are not being increased as well so this is not good news at all...

Going nd coming turn out that I spent 1k. Imagine now going to island were my office is. Is really not funny o. Funny tin is that these prices wont go back to normal even if situations changes.hmmm.

    3. @Stella..Do I blame them...TATA Buses and Red Buses that have capacity of 60passengers now carry about 30...Those who get a seat get to pay for the other seats as well as passengers who stand in those buses prior to COVID-19.Bus owners money must be complete irrespective.Unfortunately the passengers bear the brunt..with No salary increment...Tough Country

    1. BRT buses should be free for at least 3 months or worst case fares slashed to half just to mitigate the effect of this Covid-19 on the masses.

Lagos state govt., you guys have done so well. Kindly look into this as well.

    3. You right and this is because they have not been practicing any social distancing. We still have 3 at the back and two by the driver side. Even bikes still picks 2 passengers if you are comfortable with it. So difference with previous arrangement before covid-19.

  6. Even in p.h TP fare has increased because of the social distance rule

  7. Which way Nigeria? Cutting cost by the government should have been the real palliative for the citizens, considering many lost their jobs and salaries were slashed for some.
    Not nice at all

  8. It is well with Nigeria,
May we get it right some day , salaries have been slashed , people have lost their jobs , too much craziness going on .
Now people would be spending a large chunk of their paycheck on transportation.

  9. That is it..When we run a ''Baba Sope'' Government in Lagos..When you make everything monopoly in Lagos, this is what you get..

  10. Including yellow and white buses, even private car owners that normally take us to work on the Island have also increased theirs. All these with no increment in pay, Lord help us.

  11. It will only be fair if they increase price and maintain social distance guidelines.
BRT buses plying Ikorodu route didn't maintain social distance guidelines last week.

Danfos also increased their fare but only 1 in 40 comply with the guidelines.

Na God dey sustain us for this country because everything is now expensive. From Biscuits to detergents.

Very soon Alvan Ikoku will join Tafawa Balewa on the bench.

  15. Our system is not considerate of the common man, seems everything is made to frustrate and put you down if you are not among the elites.... increase on food stuffs and transport, some people has been laid off from work for no just reason at all.

It takes the special grace of God to make it in this country, that is why if you can make it in 9ja, you definitely can make it anywhere else in the world

  17. The route I play was increased from 120 to 150 to 200 when the Covid 19 incident started.
Now how much will they increase it to?

The worst is that you will get to the bus stop by 6am and will not get a bus till 8am or later.
You end up getting to the office late, after waking up early.

    This is very discouraging ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

  19. God will help us. I pay more transport fare to work now.
In all this, I thank God I have a job.God will bless the remaining salary for me.
    It is well.

  20. People complain about everything!! Shebi they are hungry and want to go to work? Hen let them go to work na.. instead of us to be patient and let things get better. No they are hungry.

Fuel price has really gone down, that alone should help cushion the effect of social distancing in public vehicles.. but we must always be against govt. Let the hungry eat to their fill.

  21. Oil price has reduced now. Even if there is going to be increase in T.fare, it shouldn't be too much.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I calculated how much I have spent on transport for this month, almost 16thousand. On top how much salary?.. Only God will help us to survive the effect of this covid

  23. Nigeria's problem is simply leadership challenge. The problem with Lagos state is just giving power to only one person to monopolize and exploit others. Increase in the state's transportation would automatically give rise to multiple increase except employees take home. If everyone leave Lagos because of the difficulty, who will build the economy of lagos. Should the state be increasing fares in this trying and difficult times? Are lagosians not suffering enough? Shoula all graduates become tailors, hair dressers, vulcanizers painters, road sweepers, drivers etc? Is it a crime to live in lagos? Why is it a sin and crime to be born a Nigerian living in Nigeria? If we all RELOCATE ABROAD, who will these people govern?

      From 100/150 to #300?

From Ikeja to Ketu is now #200 as against #150. That's a bit reasonable.

But you see those buses plying Ikorodu and Island, their greed will be the end of them.
