Nigerian Govt Reportedly Orders Closure Of All Universities For 3 Weeks

The Nigerian Government has reportedly ordered the closure of all Universities and inter-university centres across the country between February 22 and March 14 over security concerns during the up coming elections...


Acting on the directive of the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, the National Universities Commission (NUC), in a circular to all Vice-Chancellors of all universities and directors/chief executive of inter-university canters, urged all the universities to vacate during the election period.

      This go home imposes a lot of difficulty on some students and the schools font make exceptions

    6. 12:47 think about those schooling in unilag but live in the north or in akwa ibom. That’s a big hardship. Some parents can barely afford the transport fare to school and govt adds another expense without any planning

      Not to talk of the fact that the roads are not safe now.

  2. Good news. Read on paper where the ASUU president questioned the order. Saying universities has never been closed during past elections. The environment is tensed. Parents pls hold your teen/adult children. Vote and go to your house. Don't allow anyone use you.

  4. 3 weeks ?? what kind of closure is this after 8 months at home ..what a government!! ... if im to employ any graduate na to do exam and rigorous interview o or probation period of 2 months
