Chronicle Of A MARRIED MAN

Catholics come in here!
I heard that family planning is forbidden in your church. Is this true?

This childhood friend of mine who is a civil servant has four kids. His wife is pregnant for their fifth child as I type. The woman is a hair stylist.
When I saw her a few days ago, I was shocked as her husband (my friend) did not even hint me, unlike him. I asked him "guy, you didn't tell me that you have scored another goal". He shook his head painfully.

You see this man, they are Catholics. When he had his third child four years ago, I told him to consider family planning for the sake of his pockets and how the economy was dwindling at the time. He told me that as Catholics, they don't go to clinics for all these medical methods but they are encouraged to use the natural method of checking for safe days.

They cannot even use the withdrawal method. I have heard some other Christians condemning birth control, saying it is not Biblical.

I asked him how he was going to go about it, he said his wife usually calculates her safe days.
Two years ago, they had their fourth child. By now they were two boys and two girls.

He had to move his first three kids to a public school as a result of high cost of private schools' fees.

I advised him that the doctrines were mostly man-made, arranged and put together in Rome, that he should consider the future of the kids and do family planning after this one. I don't know if he will listen but I know deep down that if I was in his shoes, I will damn the church doctrines and do what I should do.

  2. Yes ooo Stella you are right. During our marriage class we were told and i was shocked that day and kept wondering why, It now dawn on me why catholic has so many children and is not doing anything about it even if you are going through difficult time. In my mind i decided not to go through that as me i want quality life for my kids. My ex was in total support of this teaching despite not been up to his responsibilities. After our first child i started taking family planning pill this man saw me and all hell went loose that day to the extent of accusing me of killing his kids. I stopped and got pregnant for my second son and in my mind i decided to go for family planning on my own after his birth cos this man was literally not up to his responsibilities and wanted me to be giving birth yearly. Now the marriage has packed up and am saddle with responsibilities of two kids while he still attend church and even received communion. Thank God it is only two. I will definitely teach my kids about family planning God help anybody that will advise otherwise.

  4. Stella didn't you say you were a catholic? Aren't you familiar with your doctrines?

That's how my co-worker who is Catholic said she is ok with the 2 she has and she doesn't want again. I asked what kind of family planning she'll go on and she said it's forbidden, that Christians should not do such. I asked how she will ensure she has no other kids and she said they can't even use condoms. She then said they also teach them to abstain from worldly desires like sex and i was like, but you're married! Why are you abstaining if the thing is catching you and you can do it guilt-free? Lol i just looked at her and in my mind i said, i will be here when you get pregnant for the 3rd.

Religion has brain-washed most Africans who do not have the ability or capacity to think for themselves. MY co-worker likened family planning to abortion and I was shocked. Family planning is to prevent the sperm and egg from meeting for fertilisation so there will be no embryo formed to develop and you're not getting rid of an already formed fetus!! It's basic Biology!

Religion wants to control people down to even the food they eat and the clothes they wear and their bodies and women are the main victims of this institution!

    May God help His people.

Hope the catholic church is helping out with feeding and school fees, I don't like it when people can't reason with their brain, I also blame the wife, your husband must not know that you did family planning, do it secretly for your own good.

  7. This is true, family planning pills or injections is a no no for Catholics. You use natural method ( knowing your safe period ) or using withdrawal method , any other method apart from this, is considered abortions.

  8. Why do Nigeria men love to bred children every where when they cannot even look after them.
Not just the men but the women too, you get belle, carry the pregnancy for 9 months only to end up begging for money to feed those children.
You cannot even provide for them, just bringing them into this hard world to suffer for nothing.
Please change your way of thinking if this applies to you - no child deserved to be brought into the world to suffer.

  9. I wonder what the population of The Vatican and Italy is and what the numbers will be if they were obeying all the unrealistic doctrines that cannot be monitored in secret. My guess is that they don’t!

Population control is one of the reasons why the quality of life is better in the west than the poor countries. My pastor used to jokingly call our affluent suburb a place with (“McMansions that have 3-4 car garages and 2.5 kids”) meaning most have two kids & a dog and 3 to 4 cars! The opposite is the case in 80% or more of the poorer countries, 6 kids in a small space unable to feed well. There are 11 million Nigerian kids who are supposed to be in school but are out of school, hawking on the streets or converted into maids, the commonest form of child labor. Anon 13:12 is a smart woman! Thank God for you. He would have saddled you with the kids regardless of their number. May God send you your helper in Hesus nane.

  12. Nonsense bringing innocent children into the world and you know you don't the capability it is wickedness am not supporting abortion but there are ways to go about it without getting pregnant not the senseless withdrawal method

  13. They are forbidden from using traditional birth control, but they can practice natural birth control. A friend of the family who either went on birth control or tied her tubes after her third child was really vilified. She stood her ground and is still a practicing catholic. Strangely, the family had financial problems and even with that, they didn’t support her taking that step.

  15. This evil man made rule was put in place when the church was spilling blood and so needed poor men to waste in war and to replenish their armies. Ask yourself why the Catholic schools are so expensive now. With the advent of vaccines where children don't die in the millions before the age of 5, the church got scared of the people they will have to educate for free and who will start seeking reform and the people got smarter because they realized it is those that cannot cater for their kids that will have to SACRIFICE them as maids and sex objects for the "anointed" that like to touch the vulnerable. If your bishop is not going to hold the torchlight for you then finance the education and care of the children, he should birth his own and see if it is easy. Use sense o.

  17. The Billings method is the one Catholics are taught and the Catholic view on contraceptive depends on who teaches it. The original basis on withdrawal method was faulted when science proved that sperm exists in pre-ejaculation. So the church supported condoms for men but no pills for women. That's when Billings was made and it goes by safe periods. Pope John Paul had a more lenient view as does Pope Francis. The church will not raise your children and some priests call for wisdom. Even here in America it is women's contraceptives that are the issue for Catholics. Do you o.

  18. I'm curious on how those in the western world handle this though. They don't seem to have many children

  20. I am Catholic and this particular doctrine is hard but with the grace of God, can be followed. It promotes natural planning method and abstinence which helps with self control but believe me both couple have to be on the same page. I was having the IUD for the longest time and saying that I wouldn’t accept that teaching of the Church but one day I felt God speak to me telling me that it’s in those difficult things that He finds pleasure, in our sacrifice to please Him. That’s how I went straight and took out my coil but I begged God to help me. Since that time, over 10 years the Lord has been faithful. I download an app to track my natural cycle, my husband even checks the app with me now lol. The most important thing is that I have been at peace. The truth is that when God asks us for things that seems difficult, it’s always for our peace and well being too. Do you know hat all the side effects these contraceptives also have. God also tries to protect us but sadly we see His precepts as punishments but they are for our peace and for us to have fullness of life

God will help them for pregnancy not to enter? This is just another variation of 'hebrew woman' delivery. Na women dey suffer all these things pass...Chai...

  23. I just don’t understand how we can follow religion so blindly with no common sense.

You are thought that family planning is abortion. How is it abortion? Did the egg and the sperm join? Did the egg get fertilised? How is preventing pregnancy called pregnancy. Please people should use their sense in this life.

It is very apparent that anyone who wants to give their children and themselves a good life, will be mindful of the number of children they have. That is a whole human being that is your responsibility. That one moment of pleasure has resulted in a human being. Let that sink in and then think yourselves out of the nonsense being thought in churches.
