PINKYS CORNER

What Can We Call This Now?

There is this man that stays close to our place oo..He is in his early 70's. He is presently blind and his sight issue happened February this year. The wife also is bedridden. They both stay in there one storey building with few tenants down stairs. From info, this man is very wicked and so troublesome even when he was younger.

Yesterday, we were outside relaxing and receiving ategun lati Odo oluwa jejely when we heard noise from the man's house. We didn't even bother to know what was going on. But after about an hour, we decided to move closer because the noise no stop at all. On getting there we heard the man shouting and saying "e Jo, e wa mu mi lo SI isale, mo Fe losi church"(he is begging people to walk him downstairs and take him to church) but all plea fell on deaf ears. I called one of the baba tenant wey I sabi Wella and asked if she has any of baba pikin number and she gave me four of his children's contact. 

I called the first one, no one picked, tried the second person and she picked, she said and I quote "ema disturb Ara yin jare, emi o Le kuro Nile rara nitoriwipe iya ese wan lo nje yen". Thank God it was on speaker and people we were standing together with heard the conversation.

I was asked to call the third person but immediately she picked the call, she said she is not interested in listening to any info about her father and also, no one should disturb her with unnecessary issues then she hung up. Na the one wey I call last kan burst my brain. He said baba should call those children he loves, those ones he used all his life and his life savings to nurture so they can come take care of him,at least, this is the time they are to pay him back for all the good thing he has done for them but as for him, his sweat is for his wife and his children. He said, he isn't trying to be wicked but alot has been on ground and his father refused to correct those things and if he had known he would be experiencing this, he is sure he would have listened but he was busy doing the unnecessary and also putting one child above the other.

hmmmmmm.

Alot was said which I can't type verbatim because I felt so bad for baba, it happened that, the children of his wife that is presently bedridden was the ones he trained and supported all through his life and those ones are not even coming home or making an attempt to see to their problem. This life is a citadel of knowledge, we learn from people's mistakes in order not to fall into such. Why on earth will parents love one child than the other? don't they think about the future? Do they not know that, the unexpected can occur at any time ni?

Again, on the part of the children, they are making a very big mistake by leaving their father to suffer. So, if the man die now, them go kill cow chop abi? , nooo, it shouldn't be, they should be able to forgive their father and let go of the past. Like myself, I found it so easy to forgive my dad and till this present moment, I can't leave him to suffer, I will do my possible best and leave the reward to God. We are human and bound to make mistakes, I shouldn't pay evil with evil. Till now, none of the man's child has come checking on him. This is so unfortunate. No matter what my father do or has done before, I still love him and he remains my father.

Parents, please, let's stop comparison,it kills faster. Stop loving the younger one over the elder because the younger is smart and intelligent but always remember that everyone with their gifts and talents, no one is an island.We need one another to move forward. A madman has his importance only if you are able to see through. I'm putting this across because have once experience this. Some of our parents has done more damage than good to our lives. The more you make the unactionable be child feel uncomfortable when with you or with his or her younger or elder ones, you more problem you are creating. Every child needs different methods to learn and to be schooled. I could remember when I did an entrance exam at Akungba that year, when it was time to check result, my result was missing and my step younger brother's result was seen and he was admitted (because mine was missing, my dad believes I was useless and stupid). He said alot of things. Immediately I got back to my mum's place that day, I was sent a message that I have been given an admission at University of Nigeria (NSUKKA), infact, my name was on number 7 of the first batch list. Hmmmmm

It is well shaaaa, let's do better and make sure we bring our children together, let love lead and stop discriminating.

This is so sad, 

..I have been playing Luther Vandross song DANCE WITH MY FATHER AGAIN..... I am so happy I gave him the good life before God called him... I dont know about other people and how they handle it but depsite the mistakes my Dad made, he was a present Father and he left a vacum no one can fill.... Please learn to forgive your parents and love them in old age so that yours will do same...No one knows it all....

Teach your kids love so that they can forgive you easily...
