CBN EX Gov Emefiele Released From Detention After 151 Days..

On Wednesday November 8, 2023, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, was released from detention after 151 days.

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, sitting at Maitama, ordered his release, despite objections from both the Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The court, in the ruling delivered by Justice Olukayode Adeniyi, directed that the embattled former CBN governor be released to his lawyers, and ordered him to surrender all his international travelling documents.

The court noted that there must be an end to detention without trial

  3. I hope he has fully understood the meaning of the proverb, "when they send you on an errand as a slave, you carryout the errand as a freeborn". He overreached himself trying to please Buhari, and treated Nigerians with so much wickedness and lack of empathy.
But today, he alone is suffering the consequences of being a foolish slave

    1. You said it all. I have no mercy for this guy. Many people lost their lives because of his policies. What of the businesses that shut down? What happens to them? He should carry his cross alone
