Depends on the family that you are marrying from and sometimes on the educational qualification of the lady. It has nothing to do with tribe

ReplyDeleteOgoni
ReplyDeleteSome tribes and or families collect low amount of bride price but demand expensive items
ReplyDeleteWhat is the difference?
Marriage in all tribes is almost the same for greedy bride families
Bride price or dowry payments is one of the big challenges in marriages this side and in the other parts of the world where it is an important component of the marriage ceremonies/institution
It is one of the reasons the wife is seen as an asset than a co-partner by most husband's families
So a wife has to prove herself a co-partner, but the husband has almost nothing to prove
A wonder why women still accept that it be collected on their behalf
Some women even brag about their bigger price.
Price. What does that says about the payer?
🤔🤔🤔
ReplyDeleteIt's Edo state. My side collects #1000 but they'll remove #50 and return the rest. The funny thing is if they return the money, why not the other items?
