  1. LIGHT THE WAY AHEAD

Even on the most challenging days, there’s something to be thankful for. Find it, focus on it, and give yourself added energy to get through the challenges.

Gratitude might feel weird while in the midst of trouble and difficulty. Yet that gratitude will shine a positive, empowering light on the situation.

From a perspective that’s overwhelmed with negativity, all you can see are the problems. Choose instead to find something for which to be thankful, and open your awareness to all the many good, positive resources available to you.

The most valuable opportunities often appear within the most difficult situations. Gratitude helps you to see and understand those opportunities.

Somewhere, somehow, a positive aspect can be found. Always, something exists for which you can be genuinely thankful.

The more challenging the situation, the more valuable it is to have something positive you can hold on to. Identify what you can be thankful for, and light the way ahead.

  3. May the Lord fill our hearts with peace this weekend in Jesus name πŸ™
May the never-ending mercy of God find us today in all of our endeavors.
Father, we praise your name today for all that you have done in our lives. Lord you are faithful even when we are faithless.
Your love pursues us even when we are unlovable.
Your forgiveness covers our sins and frees us from its penalty.
Abba father we pray, whatever happens or comes our ways, help us to hold on to you and give us the wisdom and discernment to make wise choices in Jesus name πŸ™.
    GOOD MORNING MY SDK FAMILY.

  4. I don’t know who needs to hear this but, it’s not too late for the new beginning you desire.

But it won’t come by walking the same road you’ve been walking. Change brings change. So God will lead you on a new path.

Where do you find that path?
    In the word of God.

You step onto the new path by living according to the Word, and as you grow and progress, the Lord will reveal many new paths!

    πŸ“– Luke 2:52
    πŸ“– 2 Corinthians 3:18

God Himself will prepare and lead you to the destination He put in your heart.

That place is your destiny in this season, and Lord knows exactly how to get you there!

In the name of Jesus, I prophesy:
Today, God gives you an invitation. He says, take my hand… It’s time to go somewhere new.

    πŸ“– Isaiah 43:19

    NOW GET READY…

God will cause you to take the right decisions and succeed by them.

God will re-arrange every broken piece of your life into a vessel of super honour. Tough as things may be now, you will laugh with evidence of testimonies in Jesus Name.

Good morning and have a beautiful day. Happy Friday and enjoy your goodself. Don't worry be happy.

  6. You Live In The Kingdom Now!!
    Philippians 3:20 NKJV.

    Excerpts!!

"Did you know that you’re a heavenly citizen? Your life is from heaven. You’re not of this world. You’re in God’s Kingdom now! Therefore, don’t transact your affairs, don’t live as though you’re of this world or living in the world."

"Your actions and reactions, your thoughts, words and responses shouldn’t be like those of the people of the world. You’re different. You live on God’s terms; you live by His Word. You live by faith, because that’s the lifestyle in our spiritual Kingdom."

"When you understand this, you’ll never be perturbed by the troubles and crises in the world; you’ll live above them. This is because in the Kingdom we only win and grow from glory to glory."

    Prayer!!

I’m not of this world; I’m born from heaven and live the life of heaven now in the earth! I live above the debilitating principles of this world, walking in victory, health, strength and prosperity. I’m conscious of my heavenly blessings, rights and privileges and I live in them in Christ Jesus. Amen.

    ✔️KNOW YOURSELF. PART 101

    THE HEART IS A GARDEN

The phrase "The heart is a garden" is often used metaphorically in the realm of psychology and personal development to convey the idea that our emotional well-being and inner life require cultivation, care, and attention, much like tending to a garden. Here's a detailed explanation:

1.) Emotions as Plants: The metaphor suggests that emotions and feelings are comparable to plants within a garden. Just as a garden hosts various plants with different needs, our emotional landscape comprises a range of feelings, from joy and love to sadness and frustration.

2.) Cultivation and Growth: Like a garden, the heart (symbolizing emotions and inner experiences) requires intentional cultivation for growth and flourishing. This involves acknowledging and understanding one's emotions, allowing for their expression and growth.

3.) Nurturing Positive Emotions: Tending to the heart as a garden involves nurturing positive emotions. This could include fostering gratitude, love, and joy, akin to cultivating vibrant and beautiful flowers within a garden.

4.) Weeding Out Negativity: Gardens need weeding to remove unwanted plants that hinder the growth of desirable ones. Similarly, in the context of the heart, it involves identifying and addressing negative emotions or thought patterns that may impede emotional well-being.

5.) Seasons of Change: The metaphor acknowledges that emotions, like plants, go through seasons of change. There are times of growth, bloom, and also periods of dormancy or decline. Understanding and accepting these natural cycles is crucial for emotional resilience.

6.) Mindful Tending: Tending to the heart as a garden requires mindfulness and awareness. This involves paying attention to one's emotions, recognizing patterns, and responding with intentionality rather than reacting impulsively.

7.) Cultivating Self-Compassion: Just as a gardener shows care and compassion toward the plants, individuals need to cultivate self-compassion. This involves being kind to oneself, especially during challenging times, and acknowledging that everyone faces difficulties.

8.) Creating a Healthy Environment: Like a garden needs sunlight, water, and nutrient-rich soil, the heart thrives in a healthy environment. This involves creating a supportive and positive internal and external atmosphere that fosters emotional well-being.

9.) Harvesting Positive Experiences: Tending to the heart involves actively seeking and appreciating positive experiences, much like harvesting the fruits of a well-maintained garden. This can contribute to an overall sense of fulfillment and happiness.

10.) Long-Term Care: The metaphor emphasizes that the care of the heart is an ongoing process, requiring consistent attention and effort. Regular self-reflection and emotional check-ins are essential for maintaining a healthy emotional garden.

"The heart is a garden" serves as a reminder that our emotional well-being is dynamic and requires intentional care and cultivation. By adopting a mindful and nurturing approach to our inner world, we can promote emotional resilience, positive mental health, and overall well-being.

  10. Nostalgic Friday!!!!

Some memory don't just go away.

Special moments are special because of special people.

Sometimes, it's not the song that makes us emotional, it's the people and things that come to our mind when we hear it.

I can’t listen to a lot of the songs I once loved.

  12. PRAYER GIVES A GOD’S EYE VIEW

'Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful.' Colossians 4:2 NIV

The word 'watchful' is a throwback to the Old Testament-era practice of sitting on a city wall and keeping watch. Watchmen were the first to see attacking armed forces or travelling merchants. They had the optimal vantage point. They saw what nobody else saw. They saw them sooner than others saw them. That is exactly what happens when we pray. We see what nobody else sees, and we see them sooner than others see them. Why? Because prayer provides us with a God's-eye view; it enhances our awareness and gives us a sixth sense that allows us to perceive spiritual realities.

In their classic book Geeks and Geezers, business gurus Warren Bennis and Robert Thomas make an interesting observation about a common denominator among successful leaders in every field. Bennis and Thomas call them first-class noticers. 'Being a first-class noticer allows you to recognise talent, identify opportunities, and avoid pitfalls. Leaders who succeed again and again are geniuses at grasping context. This is one of those characteristics, like taste, that is difficult to break down into its component parts. But the ability to weigh a welter of factors, some as subtle as how very different groups of people will interpret a gesture, is one of the hallmarks of a true leader.'

Prayer turns us into first-class noticers. It helps us to see what God wants us to notice. The more you pray, the more you notice. The less you pray, the less you notice. It's as simple as that. Here is a Bible formula for success in any area of life: 'Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful' (Colossians 4:2 NIV).

  29. Eka Joy, sorry about what happened. I hope you're much better now? Thank God for safety.

Everyday for the thief, one day for the owner. A former security guard was caught stealing from a lawyer's house in my area two nights back. Apparently, he had been stealing stuff and selling to people until he was caught. After he was beaten by some angry people, he was escorted to the police station. No one occupied the house, that's why he was able to operate without being caught initially. He was laid off his security job over the same stealing habit. After he was sacked, he started to do menial jobs at people's houses, not knowing that he was checking for houses to steal from. I heard he he been told to produce those he sold stolen stuff to. The gist still dey hot for my area like this because my area is a peaceful one.

Was listening to a pastor preaching and he mentioned satan name like 39 times, satan this satan that and they'll mention God name in maybe just 19 times, oga are we here to worship Satan or God? Can we just ignore the guy for some time and reduce him to a nobody? I think by calling his name more we are giving him more power and authority.

  38. To the anon who has been trolling SDK. You need some honey dear.
She might not be perfect in your eyes just like every human but this your line of narration is simply awkward and a way of showing how unsecured you are about her personality. .. Why engage a woman about her personal life. Who made you a judge over how spouse should behave?
When has a spouse attending a burial of an inlaw become a norm. We have read here where a lady said her mum died and was incremented abroad and the earth did not fall. The villagers wanted to turn them to ATM and BV's advised her to lock up.
I have a friend who's father in-law died and the husband asked her to stay back because he understands his traditions and people more than my friend. Maybe someone will use it against her tomorrow lol. There is no lay down rule on how a family works. Remember we reap what we sow. If you are praying for a good marriage to scatter, yours and your children's own will scatter too.

Shout out to every strong woman in the house. Those who has refused to be bullied. You are an Amazon. You worth a billion dollar.

  39. Eka,

Sorry about the oil spill, read the comment around 3am this morning.

Funny (or not funny) thing is I also experienced same on the same day, but mine wasn't oil but water.

Hot water from car radiator. I was angry or should I say worried that the radiator I just bought a day before could be overheating, so immediately I got home that evening, I opened the bonnet and was fiddling with the radiator cover, next thing it burst open and the hottest water in my life splashed all over my face, body and on my hand, the hand that was opening it..

I threw the cover and rushed in, I wasn't worried about the stuff affecting my hand and body, na my face I just dey fear.. shey na like this fine boy won end?? AHHπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I rubbed raw egg all over my face, hand and my Tommy.. I was told to do so..

Fast forward, had a little swelling on my Tommy with liquid inside, I black patch on my hand and nothing happened to my face, thank God ohπŸ™

Na so I stay small then enter town go enjoy my life again, cos Omo, the devil has been put to shame as always..

Sometimes I don't know if I'm just so lucky, I'm loved by God or na my mama prayers, cos Omo.. I am being protected from evils..

Today I am crushing on God.. Baba you do well oh, my whole life is a testimony, I have been through a lot and survive stuff a lot of people don't,. Asin if I talk my life story, a lot of people wouldn't even believe it..

    I am so gratefulπŸ’šπŸ™
