CHRONICLE OF A MARRIED MAN

It was my dream to attend a higher institution, at any age, against all odds. So in my 20s, I finally saved enough to further my education but I packed my bags and quit after just three weeks in school.

I was attending lectures already, snapping pictures in "motion ground" and feeling myself but cultists would not let me drink water and drop cup.

They kept disturbing me to join them. As I type, I still wonder what the attraction was cos I was not a rich kid, not too brilliant, zero connection but I was a good dresser and a very fine boy, I'm still fine (shines teeth).
Do they use beauty as a criteria to scout for new members?

So, these guys pleaded, cajoled and later started threatening me to join them. They were everywhere - in my lecture room, my compound, on my street, in the cafeteria, they even attended my church.

There was no way I could have joined them. I was a poor boy from a broken home, with no one who cared whether I become something meaningful in life or not. I was responsible for myself and my younger siblings and I was determined to make it in life without involving in any crime. Though they promised me heaven on Earth but I knew better.
One day, my room mate had travelled, leaving only me. I locked the door myself when I left for school, came back home, opened the door, then saw this guy that had been disturbing me, lying on my bed.
I ran out in shock.
He told me I was on my last lifeline and they would soon take drastic action on me since I was stubborn.

After he left, I checked and saw that he entered the room through the window. You know all these ancient wooden windows without iron protector, he probably gave it a hard blow and the hook I used to lock it from inside removed and he jumped into the room. It was a bungalow.

That night, I started packing. The next day, I left before daybreak with my heart in my mouth. I was scared of them seeing me leaving.
I later went the part-time route, working while I schooled. No one disturbed me to join anything.
Anyone here had an ugly experience with these guys?

  1. I was only warned twice during my predegree days at oou,my favorite color back then was black and I loved to wear black on black....I gave myself brain and stopped.

Another time was towards the end of the program,I had a neighbor, that was working with a particular company and most of their branded stuff was in yellow....that was how I packed yellow face towel to school,I didn't even know this guys wear watching and they actually asked me to stop or join them that their own has beautiful and intelligent females in them and nothing will happen to me,if I eventually entered the school.
Thank God I didn't gain that admission because the yellow boys were already greeting me at every corner.

    1. Your story reminded me of the story of my family friend then in UNIBEN...He wore black and black and wetin to one place like that at EKOSODIN....Na so them stop, then use their normal slogan for am, e no answer, then talk another one....He didn't code...

Then they knew he was not part of it...They now asked him why he wore black on black...My family friend said he didn't know....Them tell am to buy 1 crate of Big Stout before them allow am waka comot....He begged and begged; them no gree at all....He had to part away his last money in his pocket for them to buy their Big Stout....

      Him run comot from Ekosodin....🤣🤣🤣

Thank God they didn't kill your dreams and determination.
I schooled here in the north and honestly during my time we never experienced such, we only hear it existed in other parts of the country.

  9. Wow. Thank GOD for your life. I remember when my brother was in school, he already knew he will become a target based on his appearance (fine boy) he just entered church. He and his friends used to preach in school buses. That was how he escaped
