Actress Temitope Osoba Narrates How A Lump Was Found In Her B00bs At 38 Years

Yoruba Nollywood Actress Temitope Osoba has narrated her battle with breast cancer. She says that she was 38 years at that time and was told by doctors that   she must not get pregnant due to the medications she was taking as it might affect the baby

‎ She said:

‎ ‘As a woman, we were advised to always check our breasts for any lump in order to prevent cancer. The first time I went to the hospital for a checkup, I met a 15 years old girl who they removed 6 lumps from her breast so it’s not a function of age.

One day in 2023, I checked my breast and saw a small bean-like lump. I quickly went to the hospital and the doctor told me it was nothing to worry about and it was because I had not given birth nor breastfeed.

A woman who has not given birth has a high chance of getting cancer. I went home but my mind was still there because the lump kept on growing so I told my aunty what was going on and she advised me to go to the lab for a test. I went and they told me they would remove the lump to test it. I then went to The General Hospital in Sagamu, they removed the lump to test it

‎They called my aunty that they detected cancer in the lump but my aunty didn’t know how to tell me because she was scared I would hurt myself. She hid it from me for 6 months.

She was always telling me to go for checkup which I eventually did. They said they needed to check the lump that was removed and they told me they detected Cancer. I did series of tests to know if it had spread and they told me I must not get pregnant in the next 5 years because I would be on medications which might affect the baby and I was 38 years at the time.

I prayed to God. Later I was told to have a CT scan done and they told me the cancer didn’t spread to other parts of my body. It only has some leftover particles in my breast so I must do a second surgery to take the rest out. I was given a bill of N15million which I didn’t have.

My family members raised money for me and Foluke Daramola sourced for funds for me online and people turned up. I appreciate everyone. Now I AM CANCER-FREE’ -

    1. This day and age , with our food and exposure to carcinogens. No medic should take light a breadt mass. Err on the side of caution
    2. Rightly so, she went for 2nd opinion however not to the doctor but straight to the lab... well thank God she had it done.
    3. Lab is calling aunty to report test and not owner of test, given that they self referred...HIPPAA no dey exist for Nigeria health care space?
    4. Aunty got result and held on to it for damn 6 months cause of fear of her killing herself, no be pregnacy result wey after 9 months na pickin, cancer test that a terrible can kill someone in less than 6 months.

God is wonderful, congratulations on a clean bill of health...cancer freedom is God's grace

  5. Thank God for her life. Young girls and women please endeavor to check ur breasts regularly especially when you go to take ur bath. Check for any change or irregularity, you alone know ur body thoroughly. At 17, i checked one day and felt a lump, i marched myself to our teaching hospital, even the doctor that examined me was shocked. He asked how i knew to check cos i was so young and back then the info wasn’t readily available like now. Eventually, i had surgery and they removed it, it was tested and it came out benign. Meaning it was not cancerous. So please women always check ur breasts, how early you detect any abnormalities really counts.
