Anambra State Lawmaker Suspended Over Social Media Post Termed 'Damaging Content'

Anambra State House of Assembly has suspended Hon. Bernard Udemezue, the member representing Ayamelum Constituency, for three months without pay over what it described as “damaging content” shared on social media.

Hon. Udemezue, a PDP lawmaker, posted claims alleging marginalization of his constituency in the distribution of constituency allowances.
He revealed that lawmakers receive ₦10 million quarterly, which he insisted was meant for community projects, not personal gain.

Udemezue also made explosive claims linking the state government to the kidnap and alleged murder of a former lawmaker, Hon. Justice Azuka, which the House has asked security agencies to investigate.

The House deemed his comments unparliamentary and damaging to its reputation and suspended him without pay..
