INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD

Growing up, I loved good music, still do and I loved dancing. I couldn’t and still can’t sing to save my life, but I could hold my own forte on the dance floor.
In primary and secondary school, I wished I could join the school cultural dance troupe, but I couldn’t because I knew my parents would have my head so I could only watch from the side lines.

In the university, I got the opportunity to join a dance group, and for the short time I was part of it, I was able to visit different states to perform with the group.
Arthritis, motherhood came in, and I stopped dancing like I used to, but I have always hoped my children would love dancing and be good dancers.

My first is like his dad can’t dance to save his life. No rhythm at all. Watching him dance looks like watching the praying mantis in Kongfu Panda( Master Mantis)but without the stealth of a martial artist. Just long limbs splaying around. I kind of gave up on him ever being a good dancer.

My second wouldn’t even stay still enough to listen and dance. I tried encouraging and dancing with my princess, and she showed no interest till last week when she mistakenly stumbled on a music channel and danced, little steps, but with the rhythm, her siblings lack

Now, every day she asks me to play music so she can dance. She is just shuffling for now, but I can see the potential. Maybe one day, she will be good enough to dance professionally.

Professional dancer dey put food for table?LOL
Thats how we were having a convo with someone and the person was suggesting some kind of low class jobs to my Bambino who is in the University...Bambino kept stealing glances at me and with one kinda msile on his face and when he couldnt bear anymore,he asked the person, ''So you can use this kind of Job to live well and not depend on the govt''? Hehehhehehhehehehehehe

TEACHER LIFE
Lunch hour in a school can be quiet… or it can be a full-blown safari. And in my class, it’s usually the latter.
Take the posh-but-messy parent. Hair done, shoes sparkling, perfume perfectly balanced. Their child opens the lunch bag… and it smells like it survived a week in a swamp. The spoon is crusted. The flask? Oily from yesterday's lunch.

Then there’s the “new lunch box every day” parent. Monday: Spiderman. Tuesday: Captain America. Wednesday: Paw patrol. The child shows off the designs like a tiny fashion influencer, while I silently pray for consistency.

Some hover in between: neat today, dirty tomorrow. No pattern, no warning. You never know what you’re going to get, so I develop psychic powers to anticipate chaos.
Meanwhile, the overpacked lunch child struggles to lift a flask so heavy it could double as a dumbbell. Then he unloads mountain of Jollof rice, two chunky pieces of chicken, fried plantain, and a side of salad, Half eaten, half uneaten, half asleep , attention span gone, and learning? Forget it.

Some children have perfected the whisper plea:
“Miss C, please call my mummy! I forgot my lunch.”
You call. Fifteen minutes later, the driver arrives… with instant noodles. Again.

Then there’s the pay-for-school-meal child — quietly eating, no drama, no whispered panic, no emergency deliveries. Bless them. Calm in the chaos.
And we cannot forget the “normal, proper quantity” parent. Neatly packed lunch, just the right amount, everything edible, everything clean.

And then comes the spilling. Someone’s juice is leaking into someone else’s backpack; another child is trying to swap their boiled egg for a piece of chocolate. It’s a black market trade happening right under my nose!

Finally, at the close of school there's always this call, the classic:
“My child did not finish his lunch!”
I sigh in my heart and think: madam, this is not a restaurant. And yes, don’t overfill their flasks .your child is not training to be a sumo wrestler.

Lunch boxes are more than containers. They are small, explosive lessons in parenting, chaos, and patience.

WOW!!!...I am always fascinated by Lunch boxes becos i buy dem tire...My Bambinos hardly ever ate food they took to school until i found out why and stopped giving them.....WE ENROLLED THEM TO EAT SCHOOL FOOD AND BOOM!!!

NOTORIOUS FOR JESUS

When my BIL brought his fiancee, his mother kicked against it saying her son will not marry Yoruba. They had a long back and forth and on the long run, they married against her wish. She conceded because the man put his feet on the ground.

Two months after, the lady got a scholarship to UK that covered her family and she went with her husband. Soon, they bore a baby and the mother in law was invited over.
It is just a month now and we hear their home is a battlefield with both women fighting for superiority and marking territory, leaving my BIL in a tight corner. He said to my hubby, "It feels like I married two wives".

My husband advised him to take it calmly because he appeared disturbed over the issues. My husband explained how my mother in law is not learned, not in support of the marriage prior and how they both are living together under the same roof for the first time.
He also reminded him how my MIL and I also didn't get along the first time until much later. My MIL, though has her flaws, she is a good woman nevertheless. She is a very successful woman and that can sometimes comes with ego, coupled with the fact that she is not learned. I suspect she sometimes feels threatened by her daughter-in-laws because she has four sons, no daughters, and all the children married away from their tribe. I hope they all find amicable ways to deal with the situation.

It is a big headache for a boy mum imagining where your son will find love and wanna marry..I am sure that i dont want my Bambinos to have Nigerian in laws abeg.....

READ THIS BEFORE YOU MARRY ANYONE

If you must marry anyone, please make sure you are ready to tell them everything about yourself that can affect them.
You cannot have a serious health condition and hide it from your intending spouse.
You cannot have a hereditary health challenge and keep it away from your partner.
Tell them the things you have done in the past that could affect your future together.
If you have ever dated his uncle, tell him
If you have ever dated her friend, tell her.
If you have ever had a mental health crisis, let them know.
If you were an agbero before, let them know.
Whatever it is, as long as it can affect your future together, open up.
Many marriages are breaking today because of things from the past that were hidden and later discovered.
Anything you know that can destroy your marriage when it comes out later is better said early.
Let them decide to choose you despite your story.
Do not build your marriage on deceit.

I'm one person that loves my identity and will always be proud to associate with my triber/state men or women

My Idoma,Tiv, and the Igede people desperately need financial education. I'm being too concerned lately.

My recent trip home make me realize our youths focused too much on politics which 80% of them are financially bankrupt and seriously hungry.

The ones who are serious are very few and they are doing extremely well for themselves even in same politics. Meanwhile God didn't bless us with politics rather with sound minds and vast natural resources beneath the ground.

The few ones I have associated with are pretty innovative, high in the spirit but you see these ones disgracing us on social media Tue Tue.

Notorious fJ story, I'm sure that mother went to abroad to go and be giving her son's wife problem, and the son was just there pretending as if he doesn't know how to put his mother in in place and respect herself. If I where the wife, I would show her this is not Nigeria where you in-laws all treat your wives like strangers if not I will kick both the husband and her mother out of my house mchewww Wicked mother in-laws.

    1. By God's grace you will be a mother in-law someday. When that happens, please don't forget this post. This woman is just a visitor, she will leave one day. The husband is doing the right thing. It's better to use wisdom when it comes to your mother and wife saga.

      Delete
    2. Yes, I don't even care if I become a mother-in-law in future or not, but my mother is an example of a wonderful mother in law and she never go to her son's house to cause unnecessary headaches for the wife, she respects herself and her daughter in-law place her in very high esteem same as we the sister in-laws. You people should learn to respect your wives, she left her parents home where she is being treated like a princess to marry your son and you people feel you are doing are a favour by allowing your son to marry her and then you all see her as a stranger and disrespect her in where is supposed to be her own home, it's pathetic!!

  43. Good afternoon BVS, please I need advice on this, I went to a culinary school and was certified, but currently working below my standard at a particular restaurant in Lagos state, as there's no other choice for now.
I was looking for a space or a place inside a particular popular higher institution in another city to be selling food when I had the money, but I later used the money to went to the culinary school when all my efforts to secure a place there didn't yield results, Note my savings could not rent a decent shop in Lagos state.
Later my brother suggested an online pre-order food at the school, and I was looking for a space in the school for pickup point to no avail, luckily for me, I found a space for the pickup, even though I've not yet paid for the space because of money, I begged the man to allow me till the end of this month when I collect salary which he agreed.
I'm afraid and having a cold feet because of many reasons which are:-
I like it in Lagos here because of many reasons best known to me, and don't wish to relocate.
I don't know if my plan will be successful concerning a very popular restaurant that is very near to the school and it's reigning at this moment.
I did a research on how people buy food outside from the students and the replies given me were too discouraging, though my brother said I shouldn't mind them because they spend more than that outside school.
I don't want my time, energy and money to be in vain because I can't afford to lose them at this moment that everything is tight for me.
The city is known for a very bad electricity in almost all the places which my area is no exception, how do I preserve my perishables and frozen items if Nepa can take light for at least four consecutive days without blinking an eye, and it's longer than that most of the time, note that I want to start from scratch and small.
I don't know if I will see a better job in Lagos state or
I don't know if I save and rent a house in Lagos state, cooking and baking from home, doing home service for people that want it, doing supplies to supermarket, it will be successful.

    1. The last part should be your sure bet for someone like you that's scared of uncertainty. Stick to staying put in Lagos and doing what you have to engage yourself in to survive.

  48. Omoh! I love this new security check 🤣🤣
Stella let it be an ID that they cannot print in a Business center e.g NIN, Voters card, drivers license or international passport .
They will start trolling me now for this my advice 🤣

    2. I concur with medussa
And let the ID be confirmed on the website of the agency that issued it before paying the giveaway money into the person's account. All the above IDd have websites where they can be confirmed. Waju, Jerry, Kelvin or Olawealth should know them.

  54. Sending international passport or Nation id cards isn't that delicate ? If a third party have access to it can be used for or things implicating ooo? One need to be carefully abeg someone used my neighbours bvn to borrow 500k last 3weeks till today no traces.

    1. I'm telling you anon, very risky. Imagine asking me to send my ID card to one BV on top 10k giveaway. I sendeth not.

It's better they think I'm a scammer than me risking my private details like that.
Before you know it they will go and search for my ancestors on Facebook and enter anon mode to tell the blog how my daily life goes, how I look, what I wear, etc.
      I pass biko.

    2. 20:52, that's not even the point, identifying yourself with your ID for giveaway is usually done when the giveaway is physical, that means you show your ID and collect the giveaway, not sending it through electronics media.
This Stella's method is usually done in a formal setting like a company paying pension or entitlement, government paying salary or other entitlement, etc

  65. I have a plan to drop a comment tomorrow under the clap back post, but will drop it here.

    I suggest the following:

    1. All blog visitors should get a blog ID.

    2. Edit your blog ID profile to reflect your contact information - at least email address.

The steps above will make communication easier for both the giver and the receiver.

I had plans to do Blog Santa since the days of "fast fingers",; the time draws near.

    Cheers
